Up for auction is this Vintage Miniature Crab Fishing Lobster Trap Cage. Hand made by local artisans and very well constructed of bent wood and wood slats with hand tied nets on each end and leather straps that work as hinges for opening and closing the trap door. It has a swiveling wooden latch on the top that keeps the trap door closed. Excellent condition. No breaks. Cracks or repairs. Stamped on the back: MADE IN CAPE BRETON. And on the bottom: MADE IN MARGAREE, C.B. Very cool souvenir from the Island. Measures approximately: 6" long x 3 7/8" wide x 3 1/2" tall. A very unique and interesting piece for your collection! As you can see it's in beautiful original condition. i t has not been cleaned. Polished, or re stored in any way. No damage or repairs. Nice straight neck with fancy fretboard inlays. It has the impressive"quality feel" of a fine banjo. This is a deluxe model with impressive appointments. The'trap door' is a fitted carved panel with a small knob for easy removal. I trapped a bunch years ago but not in a while. All of the springs feel even except for one of the victors that feels comparitively somewhat weaker. Included is 4 of the Victors, 1 Montgomery dogless and 1 I believe is a northwoods, possibly Bridger but I can't find andy markings and I am pretty sure it's a northwoods.
