This auction is for a vintage miniature fishing scale. This is the Langley Fisherman's De-Liar scale. Model#228. It measures up to 28 pounds. It was produced in San Diego, California. The device measures approximately 3 1/2” long and 2” wide. The body of the device has a number of abrasions and small scratches. We were able to test it for accuracy up to 10 pounds. It feels like it may get a little stiff toward the uppermost part of the scale. But, let's face it– I'm not pulling in any 28-pound fish on a weekend anytime soon. The backside of the tape measure has a few spots in the finish along the first few inches as shown in picture#9, and there is a very slight crimp in the tape measure around 10 inches as shown in picture#11. Original vintage collectible vintage Langley Fisherman's De-Liar pocket scale and measuring tape. Weight in kilograms kg. and pounds lbs. The green model 228 was originally designed for weighing fish up to 28 lbs. And measuring up to 40 inches with the built in measuring tape. It was a favorite for salt water fish and larger fresh water species, had a supposedly rustproof finish, and was lightweight. Originally sold for $2.50 in the 1960's 1960s.
