Vintage Wire Mesh Minnow Trap Size: 17 1/2" long x 9" in diameter in the center x 7" in diameter on the end. Constructed of galvanized 1/4" wire mesh with soldered seams and joints. Although it has surface rust. The worst is shown in photo#6, it is not rusted through anywhere. It has received a light cleaning, any additional will be left to the new owner. Vintage clasp still works as it should. One half of one end inlet cone is loose. The other half is still soldered to the frame. Inlet holes are approximately 7/8" 1" in diameter. Early glass ORVIS minnow trap with original wire holder and carrying handle. The white plastic screw-on cap with holes. I don't believe is original. It was acquired at an estate sale. The"ORVIS" on the front top is faint, I can also make out V.T. underneath and to the right of Orvis. The glass has bubbles and a top air vent hole depression. There are some chips and edge roughness on the screw opening as well as the rear minnow entry hole and some oxidation on the bottom of the wire holder. Vintage Minnow Crayfish Trap Two Piece Galvanized Metal
Great old minnow or crayfish trap. Simply open the two halves. Put some old bread, or other bait in the trap, close it back up with the spring clip, lower into the water, and wait. The minnows are able to swim in the ends to get the bait, but then can't find their way back out of the little hole. This one is in pretty good condition. It is a bit rusted on the solid metal parts, and has a couple small dents. But is still very useable, or just a great decorating or conversation piece. Also great for the vintage fishing collector. Measures about 16" long and about 9" in diameter at the widest point.

Little Giant/ Jim Dandy minnow trap One gallon capacity. Has the longer nose. Made of heavy clear glass with wire hand hold and banded metal frame. Swing lid. There is discoloration on the metal bands. Handle and cover which did not show well in the pictures. Light surface rust around the cap where the coating has worn off and on the handle. 10 3/4" long x 6 1/2" wide. The metal legs add about an inch to the width. There is a piece of white glass? factory defect- in the glass which I've tried to show in the sixth picture. I've rinsed off the cobwebs and dust. It could use a good cleaning or you can leave it as it is to display as a very nice example of a 75 year old minnow trap.

For auction is this very nice vintage Camp Minnow Trap. The markings are on two different'panels' of glass. One says CAMP MINNOW TRAP, and the other says Checotah Okla. Pat. Pending. The jar has 3 seams, and from researching online appears to be the blue/green glass, although I am not an expert. it just looks bluer than'light green' The jar itself is in excellent condition, free of chips and cracks, with the exception of the rim where the lid goes which is chipped and worn, as are most pieces such as this. There is an old zinc lid with the jar- I don't think it's original to the jar, but it is a nice old vintage lid- it's a Boyd's porceline lined lid. A great piece!
