Here's an old clip-on fishing tin bait holder. From what I was told you could keep anything from worms to insects to lures in these vented cans. This one is well used& tarnished but not rusted through anywhere. Use the zoom feature to check out the details in the photos. Both spring clips and latches for hooking on to a belt are still in good shape. This might make a nice item for a vintage fishing display. Or to actually use, and is being sold as is.

Vintage Tin/Galvanized Metal Floating Bait Minnow Bucket: This bait bucket came from an estate I helped clean out years ago. The guy collected a lot of Nascar and fishing stuff and this is one of the items from that estate. The bait bucket is in really decent shape considering it was used on a regular basis. And it's age. The handle got close to a campfire and melted the plastic, otherwise there really isn't a lot of damage to this bucket. The bottom is not rusted out and I do like the punched star image that appears on the lid of the inner sleeve. The insert still has the styrofoam intact, it's not crumbled or anything. Still quite serviceable and in usable condition if you wanted to take it fishing with you. Use it to decorate your"cave. High 5 to all you Bass and Lady Bass folks equally! Up for auction is this very old 3 piece set of vintage bait tins. The original label attached to one of the tins says. Famous Live California GOLDEN GRUBS, Cliff Johnson DISTR. EM 1317-4026 ST. PAUL 5, MINN. These came from the estate of an old fisherman that had passed at the age of 89. The set includes 2 smaller pocket tins that measure 2-1/8" tall by 3-1/8" wide, and a master tin that measures about 5" tall by 6" wide. The 2 smaller tins each have air holes in the shape of a star with two circular borders. In the upper Midwest where these came from, they were often used for ice fishing. The Master tin would stay at home in the fridge or other cold storage, and the two smaller tins would filled from the Master tin each time the fishermen headed out ice fishing. They are in pretty nice shape, with NO dents, dings, or ... morerust holes that I noticed. They do have a little rust or corrosion, and some wear on the paint, but not to bad. Vintage Tin of Allcocks Stewed Wheat, Fishing Bait.
You won't find many of these on the shelves of your local Supermarket. It is a Can of Allcocks. Stewed Wheat, specially prepared for Fishermen of the day as a convenient way to convey your bait to the bank. The tin is a bit smaller than a small tin of Baked Beans but I suppose measurements were a bit different then. The tin is marked S.298 which I presume is a reference number. The contemts are described as being a'Popular bait for Roach. Bream, Dace and Chub. I cannot guarantee what the contents would be like if the tin were opened. What a Old Hardware store find. Frabill green bait tin box in it's original package. Not sure of the age. The package does have a lot of wear from being handled and stored. There is some small tears in the plastic and creases. There is some small scratches on the box I would assume from something rubbing up against the package. The red advertising is worn with losses throughout so we cannot read the location on the bottom reverse lettered red line. There is a vintage. Original to the piece we believe, braided rope stringer with needle inside. It has a very nice swing handle with wood hand grip as well as a second swing handle without grip for the removable minnow bucket. It seems to be a little stuck at the moment so we did not force it for the photos, but chances are warm water would coax it out, as it would need cleaning anyway. There is surface rust throughout, most noticeable on the top and bottom. Designed to be worn on the belt, manufactured by Howard Sprague Ross, of Twin Falls, Idaho. It is in good used condition, with minor bumps and scrapes from use, and remanants of it’s previous cargo on the interior(the dirt, not the worms) It funtions perfectly, with a strong spring-loaded lid.
