Up for bid/sale is a mounted lake trout caught in lake Ontario during the early 1980's. This measures approximately 30" inches in length and thinking weighed in around ten pounds and it is need of a new home due to an upcoming move and it can not come along and would say it is in good to maybe very good condition and has been displayed in a temperature controlled indoor environment though the top dorsal fin and tail fin does have some minor damage as seen in the supplied epics. Florida, from Lake Miona in December of 1986. Ideal for a wall hanger in your Mancave/bar/cabin. This belonged to a friend who caught this fish and no longer has room for it in his new mancave. Taxidermy is well done, By Dolfi in Serrento Florida and cost $8.00 per inch back in 1986, and has original slight flaws like they all do. I wiped down, as it was dusty from years of hanging. Fish measures approx. 23 inches, but tail is somewhat curved, so possibly 25" Huge girth made this a heavy fish. What a impressive story for you bass fishermen to tell it anyway you want. This Beautiful Trout measures 23 1/2 from nose to tail in the current arched mount. The fish if measured along the body with the curve is 25" long A very thick bull of a fish that protrudes at most 11" off the wall when hung The natural driftwood base measures about 22" from top to bottom As you can see the fish has split some on the back but it is not visible when hung I decided to leave it as is rather than repair with fiberglass or bondo like I have seen on ebay before. The tail has some minor wear from storage The fins are all solid but one of the back(Back meaning toward the wall. It is the front pectoral closest to the wall) fins has some crackling around base. It is not noticed when hung I am doing my best to give a complete and accrate descrition. 54" Barricuda. Mounted Stuffed Taxidermy. Wall Mount. Vintage.
Folks. This is Bob the Barricuda. He is about four-and-a-half feet long, 54" He was taxidermied by J.T. Reese Taxidermist Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. My guess is that he is from the 1950s or 1960s. He is in worn condition. The tips of all the fins are/were damaged, with the tips frayed or broken. The top rear fin had about an 1-1/2" tip missing, I made a new tip out of Femo. It is glued on with a wood brace holding it on. I did various touch up painting on the fin tips and around his lips. I did an okay, not great, job with the painting. Please see photos. My touch-up painting is a bit too gray, and not metallic enough. One of his front lower teeth was also missing. I made a replacement tooth from Femo, painted it half-decently, and glued it in. So, Bob is only in fairly good condition. It is a one-sided mount, meant to be ... morewall hung. The wire wall hang is strong; he's ready to be on a new wall. So, that said, here's the story, as it was told to me. Bob is a Republican barricuda. I know that might sound odd, but it was important to the fellow I got it from to communicate that to me. I'm now passing it along to you. Bob the Barricuda is a Republican, but he gets along with Democrats too. I researched. J.T. Reese Taxidermist Inc. on the Florida Secretary of State website. It was in business as a corporation from 1957 to 1994. I found a 1993 article on Reese. This is a nice vintage set of 2 SMALLMOUTH BASS TAXIDERMY MOUNTS. These were caught and made in the late 1960's or early 1970's. They are in great condition and ready to hang on your cabin wall! One fish is approx 16" long and the other is approx 15" long in their mounted state. Both are beauties.
