Due to the State Law he could not have the actual fish mounted so this is a Taxidermist’s Reproduction. It is made of fiberglass. The rocks and shells are real. The Base is 31 inches long and 15 inches wide. The total piece is 26 inches tall. The Catfish is 21 inches long and is 8 inches from base to top dorsal fin. The piece itself weights 15 lbs. NOTE: there.are no"epidermis defects" on this Barracuda! It's only my amateurish photography and the lighting that I chose. WOW! A Barracuda! The FIERCEST fish in the Sea. If you can still remain mean-looking after spending 10 years in s dusty. Texas country barn, a BARRACUDA can. Of indeterminate age, this mount was well done. It's in the need of some cleaning and a bit of minor restoration, or not. If I was to finally bring it in and display it, as planned, I'd just clean it a little and let it go at that. It's solid, no obtrusive defects. The BARRACUDA exhibits the wear and tear one would expect of a Vintage Fish. The STURDY attachment constructed by the Taxidermist for a hanging display proves to be an excellent way to show off the fish without the distraction of a board mounting. Barry, the obvious nick-name, ... morewould be 36" Long if stretched out and 30" Long in its graceful curve. The Fins are tough and continue to exist 98% intact. The coloration is authentic to the species; no"phony" looking enhancements. The dreaded BARRACUDA teeth are the real deal; 95% remain sharp and ready to bite! The body(not including any fin) of the fish is about 5" High. The front dorsal fin is 2" High. The second upper fin, if straightened a bit, would be about 2 3/4" The dreaded EYE of the beast is 1" in diameter. Appearing a little cleaner, he" would be fit for any self-respecting Trophy wall! I really tried to provide plenty of pictures to answer any questions you might have I really don't know much about this item for sure.However I assumed by the stitching in the back that it was real skin. It is a little bit beat up as you can see by the tears in the dorsal fin and some of the stuffing showing on spots on the body I don't know if these things can be restored easily or its okay the way it is. but would be great for your cabin, and I'm not asking you huge price so you can decorate your cabin without breaking the bank. Taxidermy Fish I believe this is a Bass. The fish measures approximately 28" long and is mounted on a wood plaque which measures aprox 32" long and 12" wide. This was in my home when I purchased it and has been sitting in a closet ever since. There is no damage that I can see other than some light dust and I have not tried to clean it as I have no clue or interest on how to properly do it. Vintage Largemouth bass mount taxidermy real skin 22.5" long on wood plaque
Vintage large mouth bass taxidermy mount. It is about 22.5" in length. I think it was made in the 1970s or earlier. I bought it at an estate sale. I am farily certain it is real skin. It measures about 12" from the dorsal fin to the bottom of its body. It was a large fish. The mouth is about 4.5" open height. I tried to clean it with some compressed air and some used dryer sheets to get the significant amount of dust off. I was not overly successful. It has flared gills. The biggest flaws are the fins that are bent in some spots and possibly have pieces missing. The worst are the right pectoral fin and the bottom tail fin. There is only an eye on one side. I am sure it was supposed to be like that. The back has some filler where it was put together. Again I think it was made that way because that side wasn't supposed to ... morebe seen. I will try to pack as carefully as possible to keep from damaging the fins any further. The wood that it was mounted on is not of high quality and there are only a few screws holding it on. 22" Vintage Fish Mount Rainbow Trout Great for Cabin or Mancave
This is an earlier Mount. From 1981. He is still beautiful to view from the front and mounted on a nice wood plaque. There wasn't much effort put into the back of this mount, maybe that's common, I don't know. There's no eye in the back, and the finish is a little rough. 47" King Salmon Taxidermy Skin Mount
This is a beautifully kept 47" Chinook Salmon 44 1/2 pounds when landed with approx 25 3/4" girth displayed on wooden plaque approx 15 1/4" x 15 1/4" for hanging. Fish in overall great condition as you can see hanging on the wall. Except for fins splitting at the ends and chipping in those areas. I believe it's called carding the backside of the fins, is where the fins are separatating from the cardboard. Plaque stamped on back mounted out of Greenwood Taxidermy in Moosic, Pa. I don't know if the fish was actually caught in WI. But I would venture to guess so. It is a fixer upper. The biggest flaw is the tail fin has a tear. It appears someone attempted to repair the tear. And had no luck. The other fins have some damage also, I took close pictures of each fin to show any damage. Also there is one spot on his back where a scale flaked off leaving a bare spot. Along the jaw line there is a damaged area as well. Please look through the pictures carefully so you are able to determine if this fish is for you! He will be carefully packaged. The glare on the finish makes it look as though parts have been scuffed. this is glare only, nothing more, the color is there and is fine, see other pics to verify: Hello! This blue marlin is approximately 12 feet long. And in it's current posture, from the tip of the top fin to the bottom of the tail, it's about 5 feet vertical. Friends of mine caught this years ago and paid $2400 to have this fiberglass mount of it made. They are now retiring and planning on traveling the US in an RV as well as abroad, and are clearing out their life long treasures that are too big to take with them(like this beautiful fish) Thus this fish has only been with it's original owner and catcher(he also caught it) lol: I asked if I could try and sell this for them, and they are letting me: It's got some dust ... moreon it from being in storage, but is otherwise in gorgeous condition for a several years' old fish. I would have wiped it down myself, but wasn't sure the best solution to use, so I left it at that. Please see pics. The only thing I could find worth mentioning is that a single tip of the upper fins' about 1/4 inch worth, as in literally a small hair of a tip) needs to be touched some how. Otherwise I can't find anything worth mentioning. I guesstimate it weighs about 70 pounds or less as I lifted it slightly with their help off it's back bracket, but I didn't want to remove it from the wall to have it officially weighed. It has two mounting brackets in it's plain back side. Free local pick up in the North Texas. Dallas Fort Worth area.
