Up for auction is a book for Northwestern School of Taxidermy. It explains the fascinating and alluring art of Taxidermy. And describes the only school in the world devoted exclusively to its teaching. Included with the book is a letter dated November 14, 1938 thanking for an inquiry, an application for membership, a self addressed envelope and a payment schedule. Giant 6 feet Sailfish Mount taxidermy fish 1960's very old
here it is out of a old estate is a nice sail fish from the 1960' it need some work to it not bad for it age tho. when its hanging u can't even see. ok look at photos for details is the easiest way to see and explain. even a good cleaning would make a difference looks to be easy to be touched up with paint. fish is about 6 feet from tip to tail tip and the fine is about 16 inches high from body. now for shipping the easiest way for both of us. For sale is a Walleye mount that has been on the wall for many years. It was old even before i bought it! It is a real fish that has been mounted. Not one of the fiberglass ones of today. The walleye is about 19 inches from nose to tail. It is mounted by a peg sticking out of the driftwood. The driftwood also had a hanger on the back for mounting to a wall. The driftwood is a hefty piece weighing in at 3 pounds and a half pounds! The condition of this piece overall is pretty good. This female walleye was caught on 7/18/86 on Lake Erie near Lakeside. OH, by my father. At the time, it was the largest walleye my father had ever caught. He was ready to cut it up to eat, but my sister and I convinced him to let us have it mounted for him for Christmas. This mount proudly hung in my father's living room until his death in 2000(and remained the largest fish he ever caught) I have been the fish's caretaker since then. I would like others to enjoy this fish since I have nowhere to put it, and it has just been stored since 2000. I would like to take the little metal inscription off with the date and size of the fish but can leave it on if necessary. The fish weighed 8.2 pounds and measured 28.75" It is mounted on an Ohio state wood plaque. I remember it costing about $100(back in 1986) to have it mounted. But still taped together with the tape that taxidermists use on the back of the fins(see pics) It really isn't that noticeable once it is hung. The bass is between 19" and 20" Tough to get an accurate measurement with the curvature of the mount. Comes with the driftwood and wall hanger. When this bass was caught it was a really yellow color as it is in the mount. It is not discoloration from age. It would be great for a cabin or man cave. Northern pike musky head mount vintage macabre oddity taxidermy
This is a vintage musky or pike head mounted to a little block of wood. About 6" of projection from the wall when hanging, and 4" high. It looks like it was prepared by filling it partially with plaster of paris. Some of the skin is cracking through, but it has a very unique character looking back at you with yellow eyes and little stubby teeth. I cannot verify for sure if it is 100% authentic. It may not be a fish at all but an alien baby for all I know.

Paraguay- Parana, and in the Sao Fransisco River system. Piranhas are normally about 6 to 10 inches. All piranhas have a single row of sharp teeth in both jaws. T hey are tightly packed and interlocking via small cusps. These t riangular. Pointed and blade like chompers are used for rapid puncture and shearing. CONDITION: This taxidermy was in GOOD Pre-Owned Used condition until bugs got to it. And left tiny holes on the body/head. Also. When I was done taking picures. I t fell out of my hands.
