Cabelas Genesis Fly Rod, Reel, Line and Case Combo 8'3" 5 wt
Here is a used fly rod combo that I learned to fly fish with. I have 2 and I need to get rid of one to purchase a new. Shorter, small stream rod. It comes with the rod, reel, line& backing, and hard case. It is a 2 piece rod and is 5 weight. I did break the tip of this rod 2 years ago but had a local rod builder put a new tip top on. It was originally 8'6" so the last 3" are gone. I fished with this rod for 2 years after breaking and fixing it and it works well. This combo was originally around $150! Up for auction is a Cortland CL graphite 7' 3/4 wt fly rod and Orvis Rocky Mountain Reel loaded with used 4wt Weight Forward Floating Fly Line and Backing. In addition. I am including an Orvis reel case, new 7.5' leader and a dozen hand tied flies by me that will catch fish anywhere. The rod and reel are about seven(7) years old and have caught a few fish. The Orvis Madison Reel was manufactured in the U.K. and has a size of 3" and comes with a suede carrying pouch. Very nice Fin-Nor No. 3 reel with a Penn International 1090 SPT 9 foot rod for#10 line. Reel has minor scratches and 1 small nick as seen in photos but is fully functional and very smooth. Reel has anti-reverse. Rod is in great shape with minor pitting on rod tip eye as seen in photo no pitting on other eyes and all area in contact with line are fine. Reel has backing on it. No fly line. Rod handle is cork and in great shape. Very nice balance. Very smooth drag. Rod case zipper is sticky but works. I have caught yellow fin tuna and red fish on this, drag is perfect. Orvis Helios 2 8' 4" 3 wt. with Orvis Mirage 2 reel
I have this rod for less than a year. Fished it a total of about six times. Same goes for the reel. The reel does have a couple of scratches on it. Honestly the finish on these Mirage reels could be better. But it functions just fine. The only thing I have mainly threw on it was dries. The rod has the tube. Warranty card and even a membership to TU. The reel has the original box and reel pouch. The reel also has brand new line on it. I believe it is either Rio WF light trout 3wt or Triangle Taper. I really can't remember what I put on there. Again just been used a handful of times. Rod is a mid flex which I liked better than the tip flex H2. Great dry fly rod and superb small stream rod. I even have the original plastic for the rod tube. Cork is a little dirty but again rod only used a handful of times. Free shipping!

80's Martin 3 rod travel fishing combo w/Mitchell reels,Martin fly reel,unused
Up for consideration is this vintage Martin 3 rod travel fishing combo with three Mitchell reels and a Martin Fly reel. The travel combo appears to have never been used. Or may have been used once or twice. The Mitchell reels included are a model 8630 bait cast and a 2165G large spinning reel and a 2120G light spinning reel. The bait cast reel is the only reel out of the four that has line on it, so I'm assuming that this had been used. The Martin Fly reel is a Model 67SS-A and appears to have never been used. All the reels are in great condition with no user wear and all come with manuals and warranty papers. No scratches, chips, cracks, rust or corrosion. The bait cast reel does have a small paint chip on the housing. You can see this in the picture. This is the only flaw that I see on any of the reels. The take down Martin rods all ... moreappear to be unused also. There are five rod combinations. They are a 5 1/2' casting rod, a 6 1/2' spinning or fly rod, and a 6' 8" spinning or fly rod. The last two have handles that reverse for fly fishing or spin fishing. No scratches, chips, cracks, rust or corrosion, the rods and guides are still very shiny. The only flaw I see is the tip guide of longest rod is reversed, it looks like it was glued on wrong at the factory. You can see this in the picture. Also included are two small 4 compartment Martin clear tackle boxes with some tackle. These both measure 5 1/2" long x 4 1/4" deep and are 1 1/4" high. All this comes with a brown heavy duty vinyl carry bag. The bag measures 17" long x 8" high x 6" deep. This is in great condition with no holes or tears. This is a very nice Martin travel fishing set that would be a super addition to any fishing or sporting collection, or use it to fish with.
