I do see a couple of very light scratches on the black side of the reel but hardly noticeable. The fly rod is also in very good condition. I don't see a mark on it. Eyes are pristine. It's a“South Bend Black Beauty. 3685, medium action, graphite composite, 6/7 line weight. It does have a small yellow fly on the end of the line which I haven't bothered to remove. The Martin single-action fly reel is precision manufactured in the U.S.A. to give you years of trouble-free service. Frames are made of reinforced aluminum with extra strength. Machined hubs. You are bidding on these 2 estate found. Fly fishing rod& reel combo kits. I don't know the exact age, but they are vintage. I purchased all of the fellows fishing rods, but I don't fly fish at all. The red colored reel is a Martin# 81 Automatic Mohawk reel, that is mounted on a Martin"Tuffy" rod.The rod is around 9' long, and the recoil on the reel does work very well. The trigger on the reel needs cleaned up, it is kinda rusty looking, but works well and looks as though it will clean up. The green reel is a"Mohawk-Horrocks-Ibbotson" Co, Utica-NY#1106. It works very well, but there is no griese in the gears, and does need to be griesed. The rod is is just marked"3500 F G 7' All eyelets are in place and seems to be solid. Thanks for looking.

This is a preowned fly rod and reel combo. The rod is a 2 piece. Graphic Composite by Mcgill called the Black Eagle. Model# BE 300W, I believe that's the correct numbers. They are almost worn off and difficult to read. The rod is 8'6" in length with a cork hand grip area. The rod is a black gloss in color with Gold tone, and green graphics. The reel is a Martin#62. It comes with some line already on the spool. I'm not sure of the length or quality of the line. The reel has signs of wear in the finish but has been touch up. Don't look that bad. Antique FLY FISHING ROD with Reel by MARTIN 63, USA, One Piece Aluminum
I don't know how old this vintage 70 inch overall Fly Casting Rod is. But I think it's one piece and made of aluminum. It has a finish coat on it that appears to simulate wood, and has a 24" long wooden grip with aluminum attachment parts for the reel. The bottom two rod eyelets are missing the circles to contain the line, but not being a fisherman I don't know if they're missing by design or accident. The top two do have the small circles containing the line, which is an approximate 3 foot length of monofilament line attached to the very long fly line, which is probably designed to float and is left on the reel. The reel measures 3" in diameter and has a"Precision Martin Fishing Reel" logo on it, with a number 63 and Made in USA on it too. I found these at a farm sale and decided to pass them along. Both rods are identical" Bristol" 3 telescoping fly rods that are 8' in total length. The rods extend properly[ one needs a little coaxing] and are in pretty good shape with minimal wear to the cork handles. The reels are both Martin reels but one is a# 65 with the other a# 60. 80's Martin 3 rod travel fishing combo w/Mitchell reels,Martin fly reel,unused
Up for consideration is this vintage Martin 3 rod travel fishing combo with three Mitchell reels and a Martin Fly reel. The travel combo appears to have never been used. Or may have been used once or twice. The Mitchell reels included are a model 8630 bait cast and a 2165G large spinning reel and a 2120G light spinning reel. The bait cast reel is the only reel out of the four that has line on it, so I'm assuming that this had been used. The Martin Fly reel is a Model 67SS-A and appears to have never been used. All the reels are in great condition with no user wear and all come with manuals and warranty papers. No scratches, chips, cracks, rust or corrosion. The bait cast reel does have a small paint chip on the housing. You can see this in the picture. This is the only flaw that I see on any of the reels. The take down Martin rods all ... moreappear to be unused also. There are five rod combinations. They are a 5 1/2' casting rod, a 6 1/2' spinning or fly rod, and a 6' 8" spinning or fly rod. The last two have handles that reverse for fly fishing or spin fishing. No scratches, chips, cracks, rust or corrosion, the rods and guides are still very shiny. The only flaw I see is the tip guide of longest rod is reversed, it looks like it was glued on wrong at the factory. You can see this in the picture. Also included are two small 4 compartment Martin clear tackle boxes with some tackle. These both measure 5 1/2" long x 4 1/4" deep and are 1 1/4" high. All this comes with a brown heavy duty vinyl carry bag. The bag measures 17" long x 8" high x 6" deep. This is in great condition with no holes or tears. This is a very nice Martin travel fishing set that would be a super addition to any fishing or sporting collection, or use it to fish with. Ok selling this for a Friend so please blow up all pictures and ask any questions. The tube holds air and up to a 230lb person. Tube has no leaks. The water trunks are Size 9 and I'm not sure if they leak or not they didnt 15 years ago but can't be certain now. The trunks so discoloration and the strap for the shoulders are frayed a bit.The two reels are Martins the loner pole 115 inches long is a Browning and the shorter pole is a Kunnan Spiraltech. All items so wear and scuffs no breaks on poles all hooks are firm and Intact. These items have all been stored in a smoke free safe climate temp for the past 15+ years. A very nice set. Vintage South Bend 3260-J Fly Rod With Vintage Martin 48A Reel - 7'-8"
You are looking at a vintage 2-piece 7'8" fly rod made by South Bend. With a vintage Martin 48A fly reel and cloth case. This rod is marked 3260-J right on the rod and the reel is marked on the back with makers mark and number as well as some patent numbers. The rod is two piece and has a cork grip which is in good condition but shows usage. The reel clamp is aluminum and works well. The rod is fiberglass with six eyelets, and is in good condition as well. This is a nice set up for the fly fisherman or the collector.
