Up for sale is my Cortland Steelhead Rod and Reel Combination. The rod is a 9 foot 8/9 weight 2 piece manufactured by Cortland. The reel is also manufactured by Cortland. It is a CLX IV Cassette Reel. It is easily adjusted from left to right hand retrieve by following the instructions in the owners manual which is included. The reels drag is very smooth and adjusts from very light to truck stopping strong. The reel comes loaded with backing and an 8 weight floating fly line. The fly line is weight forward for easy casting of big flies and is in very good condition. The rod has some good mojo going for it as you can see by the pictures of some of the fish it has landed. It accounted for helping me land all five species of pacific salmon including king. Chum, pink, red and silvers while fishing in Alaska. It also accounted for a 7 pound brown ... morefrom a Lake Ontario tributary. Also included is the rod tube which protected my rod on my various excursions. This Scientific American fly fishing rod& reel is used– but only as in pre-owned. It remains in excellent. Clean, well cared-for condition both cosmetically and operating. It was used a few times(maybe a dozen max? and has languished since. The rod is a 9’ 0” 5 weight. The cork handle remains clean. There is a fly hook eyelet just ahead of the handle. For starters we have a Sage Vantage 9 foot 6 Weight 4 piece rod with a premium cork half wells grip, beautiful wood insert and up locking reel seat. This rod has virtually seen no use and has been sitting in a case in the closet. The Redington Link is a premium medium-fast action rod from 2012. This model was replaced by the Vapen in the Redington line(reel is still current) and it performs much like that Vapen. Excellent Sage Vantage 9' 7 wt 4 piece Fly Rod with Loomis Venture 7 Fly Reel
Here is a great outfit for throwing big bugs and heavy streamers for large trout. Smallmouths, carp or other big nasty freshwater fish. We start with a Sage Vantage 7 weight 4 piece rod and add a G Loomis Vantage reel with a premium fly line and backing. The outfit comes with a Sage combo nylon covered tube which allows you to keep the reel attached to the rod(note that the tube says it is for a Sage"Flight" but the rod is a Sage"Venture" This rod has a fighting butt, full wells grip and aluminum reel seat. He lost his Z Axis overboard in the stone and found himself in need for a backup quick and on the cheap. Cabelas TLR Salt 9' 8 weight- used once(still has plastic on rod handle) It is a wonderful rod and casts well. I just decided I wanted another TiCrx. Loomis Adventure 7 fly reel- used. The reel comes with two spools. Covers, backing, 8 WF floating line, 8 WF Intermediate line, and an 8WF sink tip line. The reel is used but well maintained. I just bought two Lamsons and no longer need this reel. Replacing the three lines alone would cost $200 or more. So you are getting a brand new quality rod. A serviceable reel with two extra spools and three high quality lines for $250 plus shipping. This would be an excellent all around, multi species rod for fresh and or salt water.

This a beautiful rod and reel combo set-up: Temple Fork Outfitter NXT Left Kreh Series 9 feet 4 piece rod and and Temple Fork Series I reel. The rod is a gorgeous forest green color and is in perfect condition. With no damage to the guides or anything. It also comes with a very sturdy case, featuring hard plastic along the rod holder part and faux-sheepskin cushioning on the reel holder part. The only damage is a few cosmetic scratches on the reel and a some nicks on the butt end of the rod. Neither of which should affect fishing or be very noticeable cosmetically and both of which are shown in the photos above. I bought this last summer. Steelhead Starter Set Daiwa 9’ 8 Wt. KG-47 Fly Rod, Pflueger 1498 Reel w/ 2 Spls
This is an older Daiwa Fly Rod. Made of Graphite with a Kevlar web it is extremely durable. It is 9 ft long. Rated as an 8wt although I found it performed better with a 9 wt. fly line. I bought this rod in the Keys when my#1 rod was stepped on in the flats boat. I caught a 30# plus barracuda on it that day while wading and it became one of my favorite rods. It has caught Striped Bass over 25# Bonefish in the Keys and Atlantic Salmon in Ireland. I put a Pflueger 1498 reel on it and the outfit never failed me in any instance. It may not be the sexiest or most expensive. But it would always perform. I hope it fishes as lucky for you as it did for me. Included in the outfit is one Pflueger 1498 with 2 spare spools and the Daiwa KG-47 w/ tube and sock. The Pflueger 1498 is set up for left hand retrieve and can hold 200+ yards of backing with a ... more8wt. line. Some of the new 8wt lines that are a half weight heavier should do very well with this outfit. The outfit will ship with the reel in a box and a separate tube for the rod.
