You are bidding on these 2 estate found. Fly fishing rod& reel combo kits. I don't know the exact age, but they are vintage. I purchased all of the fellows fishing rods, but I don't fly fish at all. The red colored reel is a Martin# 81 Automatic Mohawk reel, that is mounted on a Martin"Tuffy" rod.The rod is around 9' long, and the recoil on the reel does work very well. The trigger on the reel needs cleaned up, it is kinda rusty looking, but works well and looks as though it will clean up. The green reel is a"Mohawk-Horrocks-Ibbotson" Co, Utica-NY#1106. It works very well, but there is no griese in the gears, and does need to be griesed. The rod is is just marked"3500 F G 7' All eyelets are in place and seems to be solid. Thanks for looking.

Vintage Fishing Montague Fly Rod & Reel 9 Feet 4 Inches Long With Cloth Case
Up for auction is a vintage Montague Redwing 9 foot 4 inch fly rod from the 50s or early 60s. It is in a canvas case that has a tear in it about 2 1/2 inches long and 3/4 inch wide. The pole comes in 3 pieces with an extra 3rd piece as shown in pictures 1.5,6, and 7. I know nothing about fishing poles so I took this one to a sporting goods store and was advised that it is a very old pole in very good condition. There is nothing broken on the pole and all of the parts are there. The adjustment screw for the drag(whatever that is) is missing on the reel. He said that many of these poles were produced in the 50s and 60s and they aren't particularly rare, except this one, although its been used,is in great condition. He also said that many times the tips break off the pole. I'm not certain but I think this dates to the early 1980's? The rod is in as new condition. And the reel is excellent. Rod is marked ELIMINATOR EL52BP Graphite, 6-1/2 foot, light action. I believe it is reversible so it can be used for spinning as well. The 731A Daiwa reel features a corrosion-free anodized body and spool, and is designed for AFTMA 7 line. Made in Japan. This is a little used EXCELLENT condition G LOOMIS SYNCROTECH 11.12.13 with just a neoprene reel cover(nothing else- no box or paperwork) What you see is what you get. This is the reel conceived by Loomis& Rajeff back in the day(circa early 2000) to mate with their industry leading GLX fly rods. it's a beautiful series of fly reels! If you were to take an Abel reel and blend them with a Bauer reel. I think the result would be the Syncrotech series. An elegant yet very functional fly fishing reel with audio(clicking) on the retrieve in& SILENT when line is going out(the drag is engaged) While these reels are great for big saltwater fishing. the Spey crowd knows how nice they are when two hand casting. Here for auction is what I believe to be a vintage flyrod and reel. The reel is marked Shakespeare 1094. There are 3 sections to the rod. The rod is split bamboo. The bottom end or part that holds the reel measures approx. 33.75” The cork is marked Japan. The center section measures approx. 33 5/8” and the tip end is 33.25” There are no cracks nor repairs. All the metal parts are shiny with no signs of rust. All the eyes are present as shown. I have no idea if this has ever been used or actually the age of it. There is green line on the reel. The reel spins freely. There is a plastic case that this came in and I believe it to be original to the rod and reel. This is a preowned fly rod and reel combo. The rod is a 2 piece. Graphic Composite by Mcgill called the Black Eagle. Model# BE 300W, I believe that's the correct numbers. They are almost worn off and difficult to read. The rod is 8'6" in length with a cork hand grip area. The rod is a black gloss in color with Gold tone, and green graphics. The reel is a Martin#62. It comes with some line already on the spool. I'm not sure of the length or quality of the line. The reel has signs of wear in the finish but has been touch up. Don't look that bad.
