It is machined for aircraft grade, bar-stock aluminum, with an offset-gear Rulon disc drag. Orvis puts the recommended line sizes for the reel in the 3 to 5 wt. range. The listed capacity is 100 yds. of 20 lb. dacron with a WF3F line, and 75 yds. with a WF4F. The reel is in very nice shape. There are finish rubs on the reel foot from being on a rod. The frame and spool have no scratches. Except for a"4" the previous owner etched onto the interior side of the spool. The reel has some backing and a WF-4-F fly line, which, from the partial sticker and sunrise color, I believe to be a Scientific Anglers Ultra 4 line. It's an older model line, but still looks decent to me. The reel is set up for left hand retrieve, and is reversible to right hand wind. With the reel comes a zippered Orvis pouch in excellent shape. For sale is a Sage Graphite III Model GFL-590-5LL Fly Rod and Orvis Battenkill Disc 5/6. I've fished this rod maybe a dozen times in the past 15 years. I just don't get out anymore. It's in great condition. No scratches or chips and comes with the original Sage tube sock and rod tube. Front and back the reel looks great and is loaded with Scientific Anglers' Ultra3 WF-5-F line. The spool edge has some light wear and it sounds real sweet! This is Sage's older Light Line Series. It has a lovely. Unhurried and slower action reminiscent of cane rods. Yet it can still punch out a big fly out. The rod and reel will be shipped separately. I have a heavy duty mailing tube. I'll pay shipping for the reel.

Thinking of fishing some big water. Than check out this deal. For starters we have a Sage Vantage 9 foot 6 Weight 4 piece rod with a premium cork half wells grip, beautiful wood insert and up locking reel seat. This rod has virtually seen no use and has been sitting in a case in the closet. Here is what the Sweetwater Fly Company thought of the Sage Vantage Rod recently"I am the type of fly fisherman that thinks if one or two rods will do. Then you better own 37 of them. Actually my own personal quiver numbers somewhere around a dozen but there is always room to expand. If you hang around Rosey long enough, he can assist you with whatever excuse you need to buy another one. What I found this year was a need for another 6 weight fly rod. Small water fanatics pay attention! This is a Temple Fork Outfitters 7'9" 3 weight 4 piece fly rod and an Orvis Battenkill BBS II reel loaded with a 3 weight Rio Selective Trout line. It's probably been on the water three times and honestly looks like new. The reel comes with the original case and the rod has the original cloth case(sorry. No tube) This rod comes with a cork Half Wells grip, double ring uplocking reel seat with a Rosewood insert. It is the Lefty Kreh Finesse series. Here is a review from Arizona Wanderings about the TFO Finesse 7'9" After many suggestions. I realized that I needed to start actually picking up a different rods and trying them before buying. So, having said that, my recommendation before buying any rod is to go cast several in the same category and come to your own decision. I settled ... moreon the Temple Fork Outfitters Lefty Krehl Finesse Series 7’9” 3 weight. Here is why… At 7’9” the rod is relatively short and therefore makes for a great small stream rod when overhead limbs are low and tight. It does break down into four pieces and is convenient when packing for an overnighter into the wilderness or planning on taking it on a flight back to New York. The rod comes with a TFO sock but no tube. This unfortunately forces the buyer to purchase an additional piece of equipment. Cosmetically. I feel that the rod has a nicer finish then some of the lower end TFO rods. Although this has nothing to its fishability, I like to think that someday I can pass it on to a son or someone else who would also get enjoyment out of it and to have an appealing finish on the rod makes it a nice heirloom or gift. Having fished with it for a year now, the cork is not of the highest quality which again does not matter too much to me, but if you are looking for a work of art, keep looking. For auction is one G Loomis 8wt 4 pc 9 ft fly rod and Orvis Large Arbor 9/10 Fly reel with Orvis Wonderline professional spooled with 30 pound backing. This equipment was purchased new but was taken on only one outing. I had a remote silver salmon fly fishing trip to Alaska. The rod and reel never left the case. Weather did us in. I'm listing as used because it was practiced on water. I am a 30 year accomplished fly angler and can assure the buyer that this set up has not been damaged In anyway. And equipment carefully maintained. This Rod and Reel was purchased from a professional fly shop on the famous White River in Arkansas. The invoice totaled 519.00.
