Made between 1947 and 1952 and super rare especially in this condition. It looks as if it were only fished a few times. Includes original cloth sack in great condition and the original aluminum tube in really good condition. The rod casts a Cortland 4 weight DT Sylk fly line beautifully. I have this same rod that I fish with and it handles 4-5 lb fish easily. All sections are equal length. Straight as an arrow, reel seat functions and is like new, ferrules are perfect. If you want a 7 1/2 footer to fish or put in your collection buy it now cause it won’t last long. All the wraps look great. The cork looks really good with only some dirtiness from honest use. Varnish is really nice with only a couple minor flaws from use and starting to turn darker from age. This is one heck of a great looking rod and it is ready to fish as is. This rod. For those that don't know is positioned as an upper mid-grade rod and used bamboo that was not quite good enough for the Registered and Deluxe but better than the Special, and way better than the Victory or Champion. The 7 ½’ length makes for a great little rod on smaller spring creeks capable of handling fish up to 4-5 lbs. It's pretty light, impressive. Don't you want to be the guy on your fishing trip this year showing off what an OLD Granger can do? This rod will be expertly packaged and shipped insured to your location. I am an honest seller. And my goal is to put these rods and reels back on the rivers and streams to be used rather than collect dust. Here for auction is what I believe to be a vintage flyrod and reel. The reel is marked Shakespeare 1094. There are 3 sections to the rod. The rod is split bamboo. The bottom end or part that holds the reel measures approx. 33.75” The cork is marked Japan. The center section measures approx. 33 5/8” and the tip end is 33.25” There are no cracks nor repairs. All the metal parts are shiny with no signs of rust. All the eyes are present as shown. I have no idea if this has ever been used or actually the age of it. There is green line on the reel. The reel spins freely. There is a plastic case that this came in and I believe it to be original to the rod and reel. Primitive Old Antique Spilt Bamboo & Tin Fly Rod and Reel, Worn Cork Handle
This is an old 9 foot split bamboo fly rod with a n old reel. The rod has a cork handle and the paint is worn but the cork is still intact and in good condition with no chunks missing or rot. All of the guides are present. The reel is small. Basic and the only marks are that it is made in the USA and 2 T’s in a square. The drag works and the reel reels perfectly. The metal connectors have an aged patina but hold tight. I got this to use after my fly rod was stolen out of my truck, my son got me a new one for Christmas so I won’t need this one. Vintage WWII Vicki Japan Split Bamboo Combo Fly/Spin Rod 8 ft/6 ft W/Orig Box
A description follows the pictures so please make sure you scroll all the way down through the photos. And READ the description! I will combine shipping on multiple purchases whenever possible. This is such a cool item. It is a vintage WWII era split bamboo fishing rod that converts to either an 8 Foot long fly rod-or- a 6 Foot long Spin Casting rod. It comes in its original wooden case and includes flies. Spinners and what have you. The rod itself consists of 5 sections, and includes two fly tips and a spinner tip. The cork handle comes off and turns around to convert the reel area from fly to spin. It has a small oval foil label on the box reading Vicki, with a Crown, and Japan on it. The same label is on the grip of the rod. It doesn't look like it was used but the plastic that usually would cover the grip is not on it so maybe it ... morewas used but if so, it was very lightly. The guide loops are all tight. The glue used to adhere them is a little sloppy in some areas. The boy who owned this wrote his name on the box. It looks like it might come off. One of the flip down clasps is missing on the box. There are some cracks and missing pieces on the box. There are some other numbers written on one end of the box, but I don't know what they mean. All of this is pictured. I did not see any other signatures on the rod. I understand that GIs often brought these home from the Pacific Theater during/after WWII. Vintage 1950's Split Bamboo Combo 5pc Fishing Fly Rod With Divided Wooden Case
Up for bids is what I was told is a South Bend split bamboo rod in a great divided wooden case. There is just a little piece of a label left on it, so I do not know for sure who made it. I do know it is a very nice rod, with five sections. It looks like there are three different end sections, as there is an eye on the end of three pieces. The box is great also. With two sliding plastic covers on the top section, for storage of your flies or what ever. The rod pieces measure 32 1/2. 32 1/2, 32, 32, and 25 inches. The box is 33 3/4 inches long. The rod is an Orvis impregnated bamboo. 6 1/2' 2 3/4 oz three piece with two tips, all sections have matching serial numbers are straight and they fit together tightly. The spinning reel is an Orvis 50A in great working order, the bail works the drag is functional and it comes with a spare spool, made in Italy. The fly reel is an Orvis Batenkill, click and pawl original made in England. These are not the reels that came with the rod. However, these are the same model of reels that would have been included in this set from Orvis. The box is mahogony tightly fitted with movable sections for other gear. A great collectors item you won't find anywhere else. The item will be carefully packed and over boxed for shipping.

Orvis Madison Bamboo Fly Rod and Orvis Vortex VO2 III Reel
I bought this rod and two others from Mike Clark at South Creek Ltd. in Lyons Colorado when I found out that the waiting list for his custom made rods was between 5-6 years. Mike had bought these from a collector and personally inspected them before selling them. Since I bought all three he gave me a great deal at $500 each. I then spent a couple hundred more on reels. I have two more up for auction as well. This auction if for an Orvis Madison bamboo fly rod serial#66219. 7 1/2 foot, 6- 7/8, rated as a HDG(6) According to the Orvis Database this was made in 1972. Included with the rod is an Orvis Vortex VO2 III reel and spare spool. There are holsters for both the reel and spare spool and the rod has the original tube and rod sock. Vintage Japanese Bamboo Combo Fly / Spinning Rod w/ Reel & Flies
Item is a like-new vintage(i'm guessing mid-late 50s) Japanese combo fishing kit. It comes in a plain wood box w/ spaces for the reel. Flys, etc and except for external wear on the box, the whole kit appears unused. The rod looks to be shellac'd bamboo and has all it's guides and wrapping intact. The handle is reversable to convert it back and forth from fly to casting. The box is 37" long and put together, the fly rod is 8' and the casting rod is 5' 4" long. The reel is a fly reel and the box says Olymicreel type no 500, Made in Japan Tokyo. Action is what you'd expect. Kit includes spool of leader, 19 vintage flys, a hand line w/ line on it, and two hand-painted wooden bobbers. Shipping will be USPS first class mail.

Each section is about 28 inches long. The bamboo rod is hexagonal in shape and looks well used. I don't see any cracks or splits. A great estate find. 9' 6" 1950's E.C. Powell hollow built Bamboo 3 piece with extra tip flyrod. Original canvas bag and metal tube with brass end. Pat. no 1932,986. E.C. Powell Maker Marysville, Cal. stamped on metal handle. I am not a fisherman so I don't know a lot about this rod. From the research I have done. I do believe that it is an E.C. Powell era made rod. I'm not a fisherman. I bought this Rod and Reel at an estate auction, and the Rod reads SHAKESPEARE. The rod is a 3-piece 9 foot long rod, which I was told is Bamboo, it's not round, it has 6 sides to it. I didn't take a picture of the three sections together, being 9 feet long, you wouldn't see much of it anyway. I was asked if it's right or left handed, I think it's a Left hand reel, because that feels comfortable for me. If I was to cast with my right hand, the reel is under the rod, and the handle is on the Left. The rod reads: HONOR BUILT- HONOR SOLD- SHAKESPEARE" It also has the number(1362- 9' and it is a 9 foot 3-section rod. The reel reads: SOUTH BEND- 1133, and it has a bunch of White line with it. Miniature bamboo fly rod/ 4 ft. 2 piece, 2 tips, comes with working fly reel, bag and storage tube. Only 2 of these rods are left to sell and are for sale individually. All the rods are wrapped similar except for color. There are(2) rods that are 1 wt. and(2) rods that are 2 wt. each rod comes with a working single action brass fly reel loaded with fly line and comes with flies and tippet as shown with bag and storage tube. You can really fish with them for brookies. Perch or blue gills. Great to start little kids or be a little kid yourself on a pond or creek.
