Vintage 1950's Split Bamboo Combo 5pc Fishing Fly Rod With Divided Wooden Case
Up for bids is what I was told is a South Bend split bamboo rod in a great divided wooden case. There is just a little piece of a label left on it, so I do not know for sure who made it. I do know it is a very nice rod, with five sections. It looks like there are three different end sections, as there is an eye on the end of three pieces. The box is great also. With two sliding plastic covers on the top section, for storage of your flies or what ever. The rod pieces measure 32 1/2. 32 1/2, 32, 32, and 25 inches. The box is 33 3/4 inches long. Vintage fly fishing combo pfleuger medalist 1494 with 8 ft wonder rod
Pfleuger medalist 1494 made in the usa with 8 ft shaksphere wonder rod. The reel is in great condition for its age is complete with all parts present and in excellent working condition with good click wrapped with brown string. The rod is 8 feet long and is model number 1439 i believe but not 100% sure as the model number is somewhat rubbed off as is the label of the rod. The first eyelet is somewhat bent but is straight and does not inhibit function whatsoever and is the reason i pictured in here. The cork on the handle is in good condition and the end of the handle is pictured and says featherweight. 80's Martin 3 rod travel fishing combo w/Mitchell reels,Martin fly reel,unused
Up for consideration is this vintage Martin 3 rod travel fishing combo with three Mitchell reels and a Martin Fly reel. The travel combo appears to have never been used. Or may have been used once or twice. The Mitchell reels included are a model 8630 bait cast and a 2165G large spinning reel and a 2120G light spinning reel. The bait cast reel is the only reel out of the four that has line on it, so I'm assuming that this had been used. The Martin Fly reel is a Model 67SS-A and appears to have never been used. All the reels are in great condition with no user wear and all come with manuals and warranty papers. No scratches, chips, cracks, rust or corrosion. The bait cast reel does have a small paint chip on the housing. You can see this in the picture. This is the only flaw that I see on any of the reels. The take down Martin rods all ... moreappear to be unused also. There are five rod combinations. They are a 5 1/2' casting rod, a 6 1/2' spinning or fly rod, and a 6' 8" spinning or fly rod. The last two have handles that reverse for fly fishing or spin fishing. No scratches, chips, cracks, rust or corrosion, the rods and guides are still very shiny. The only flaw I see is the tip guide of longest rod is reversed, it looks like it was glued on wrong at the factory. You can see this in the picture. Also included are two small 4 compartment Martin clear tackle boxes with some tackle. These both measure 5 1/2" long x 4 1/4" deep and are 1 1/4" high. All this comes with a brown heavy duty vinyl carry bag. The bag measures 17" long x 8" high x 6" deep. This is in great condition with no holes or tears. This is a very nice Martin travel fishing set that would be a super addition to any fishing or sporting collection, or use it to fish with. The water trunks are Size 9 and I'm not sure if they leak or not they didnt 15 years ago but can't be certain now. The trunks so discoloration and the strap for the shoulders are frayed a bit.The two reels are Martins the loner pole 115 inches long is a Browning and the shorter pole is a Kunnan Spiraltech. All items so wear and scuffs no breaks on poles all hooks are firm and Intact. These items have all been stored in a smoke free safe climate temp for the past 15+ years. A very nice set. vintage western auto fly fishing rod v4205 and southbend 1140 reel combo
OK can't find much info on these. Possible 1950's western auto from what I can tell, rod says western's fly kaster v 4205 on the handle, reel is a south bend 1140 does not specify model, could be later but still pretty old says japan on tang.everything seems functional, although I am not a fly fisher, so there may be something I can't tell does not work. has line on reel and line does retract. pole is not separate pcs. but antenna's into itself and seems to be metal? no rust. handle is cork and pretty beat up. butt end is missing button, I've tried to describe everything about this item, but not being a sport fisherman, do not know a lot about it. I will answer any questions with as much detail as I can give. so please ask. maybe I can learn something about this one, I have not seen another like it anywhere.
