This is a great. First quality 10 wt. I bought this new for tarpon and giant snook and haven't fished them much. It is a great casting rod. The Xi2's have become sought after because they are a little softer than the later Xi series rods and in my opinion, cast a little more delicately if you can say that about a 10wt. This rod has been fished a couple of times and has been strung up 6 times and ridden in the boat without being fished. The line is perfect and is up lined one level to 11. It casts beautifully. Great for Tarpon, Giant Snook or Salmon. The reel is perfectly matched to the rod and has a huge and effective drag knob. The line is a Scientific Anglers Mastery Salt Water Foating line. Orvis HELIOS 2 4pc 9wt Fly Rod Outfit w/ Orvis Mirage IV Reel
This Outfit will not be offered again. If I do not sell it. I will just keep it. This is an Orvis HELIOS2(H2) 9' 9wt Rod w/ an Orvis Mirage IV Reel. Rod- The H2 is Orvis' top of the line rod. This particular rod has been used very little. It is a TIP FLEX and casts like a cannon. There is a small area where the enamel was flexed on the ferrule(last picture. This happened when a dog knocked the rod as it was being put together. Before the parts were fully seated. My wager is that it is solely cosmetic as I have had no problem with it. However, if it proves not to be, Orvis will replace/repair it under their warranty department. Reel- Again. The Mirage is Orvis' top of the line model. This thing has the stopping power to get anything turned. I have 9wt Orvis Bonefish line on it now. It comes with only 1 spool. Redington PATH 890-4 Fly Rod Outfit 8WT 4PC w/8WT RIO Mainstream & Travel Case
Includes fully rigged 8 weight outfit with rod. Reel, backing, line and travel case. Used infrequently for about 1 season. Selling because I don't chase a lot of 8-weight caliber fish! Rod blank is in near-perfect condition and cork shows no signs of pitting or degradation. Reel and reel seat look good. Smooth and strong center-based disc drag on the reel. Line shows wear from use but performs well. Spooled with orange 20lb test Dacron backing that transitions to white near the arbor. As well as Redington's choice line for the outfit, RIO Mainstream WF8F floating line. Great rod for casting big heavy flies. Performs well throwing bass bugs and streamers but can also place smaller flies reasonably well. If you want to catch bass, saltwater species, Alaskan trout/salmon, or any other predatory fish on the fly, grab this rod!
