I bought this rod new in 2007, when I lived in the NC mountains. I used it once that spring, then moved away from the mountains that summer. Since then, I have been fishing tailwaters almost exclusively, and just haven't been fishing the best water to use this amazingly light weight and delicate rod. The rod is 0 weight, with a cork reel seat, very unique for this rod, very reliable, simple, and attractive. The rod is an 8 foot ... morelong, 3 piece rod. Includes rod tube and sock. I paid $459 for the rod in 2007, and it has since been discontinued. The reel is a White River Classic Ultra Light Fly Reel. Nice Vintage Steel JC Higgins Telescoping Fly Rod with Lawrence Reel Cork Handle
This is for A Nice Vintage Steel JC Higgins Telescoping Fly Rod with a rusty Lawrence fishing reel on it. The pole is still in pretty good shape with just some minor surface rust on it. It still telescopes pretty good but does stick some on the middle section. It Measures about 8 foot 6 inches from the tip to the end of the handle when telescoped out. It is about 43 inches long when pushed back in. The reel is a Lawrence but is pretty rusty and missing the handle. The side graphics still look good thats why I left it on. Thought if you wanted to display the pole the reel doesn't look that bad. The reel still turns but never tried it to much to see if it would work or not. Vintage Split Bamboo Fly Rod W Shakespeare 1094 Reel & Case Trout Fishing Set
Here for auction is what I believe to be a vintage flyrod and reel. The reel is marked Shakespeare 1094. There are 3 sections to the rod. The rod is split bamboo. The bottom end or part that holds the reel measures approx. 33.75” The cork is marked Japan. The center section measures approx. 33 5/8” and the tip end is 33.25” There are no cracks nor repairs. All the metal parts are shiny with no signs of rust. All the eyes are present as shown. I have no idea if this has ever been used or actually the age of it. There is green line on the reel. The reel spins freely. There is a plastic case that this came in and I believe it to be original to the rod and reel. I see no signs of a sticker being on the rod but I cannot be sure that there wasn’t. Pretty neat looking rod and reel. I offer this as found and as shown and have done my best to describe ... moreit.
