Vintage Two Compartment Aluminum Perrine Fly Fishing Box Loaded with Flies
For sale at a buy it now fixed price is this Caddis Fly Box loaded with flies. Right out of an old Denver estate it is an 6 inch x 4 inch aluminum box with a divider. There is no makers mark on the box but it is an early Perrine. One side has small compartments for nymphs. Snelled flies or streamers and the divider clips shut so that they won't fall out. The other has roll spring clips for bigger flies. It has more than 90 flies, some wet flies, some dry and some nymphs which range all the way from a size 20 hook to a size 10 long hook. It is an eclectic lot that would cover almost any trout fishing need from tiny gray hackles to big hoppers. Condition is as you see it in the photos. You are bidding on a Vintage Perrine Fly Box with 57 Flies. I assume these flies are vintage but I am not positive. These flies are in assorted used condition. You can see that some have been used more and therefore show more wear and tear. It appears there are some duplicate flies. These flies are all in a pile in the fly box. There are slots to hang these on but they are not hung on the slots. The fly box does not latch without pushing one corner side or the other down. I attempted to show this in the last three photos. The aluminum could probably be tinkered with to make it latch properly but I did not attempt this. I left it as I got it from an Old Estate Sale. This is a 1950s Aluminum Perrine Fly Fishing Box. With 140 slots for flys. It has it's original paper(Knots All Fishermen Use) attatched to the box lid. It is clean and in very good condition. The box contains about 23 flys. Also there is an almost full cardboard box of Mustad-Beak Hooks, and a mostly full cardboard box of Mustad-Beak lead sinkers. Also there are 5 lines with hooks and a plastic box of lead weights. The whole lot is in very good vintage condition.

I found this in one of his tackle boxes and it does not appear that he ever put any flys in it( look at the picture of the inside of the case) I did not clean it at all! The 30+ Flys and Jigs I am including with this listing came from another of his tackle boxes and I just thought it made sense to put them together in the hope that someone could get some use from them. My grandfather was a snowbird. He spent his winters in Homosassa Springs. Florida and his summers in Northwestern Michigan. So this collection of flys and jigs could have been used for both fresh and salt water, but I truly doubt they were ever in salt water) based on condition. His health has declined and as such he can no longer fish. My grandmother sent me several boxes of his tackle. Reels, poles, ... moreand lures and asked me to find new homes for them.
