Beautiful Glen Evans Bumble Bee Fly Rod Popper Fishing Lure
Up for your consideration is this beautiful and sharp looking fly rod popper fishing lure. I am not positive about the maker but it does look like an Evans made lure. At least some color pattern resemblance. Either way it is in great shape and has bright paint. Some of the rubber whiskers are brittle and there is a film on the lure but it really is nice otherwise. Vintage Glen L. Evans "Killer Ants" Assortment Fishing Flies 1940's NOS
Up for your consideration is this vintage Craftsman VIS-O-PAK of three"Killer Ant" fly fishing lures produced by Glen L. Evans. Inc. Of Caldwell, Idaho, in the 1940's. It has a catalog no. of VP999. They are new old stock. And are still mounted on the original cardboard and enclosed in the clear matchbook type envelope. The company calls the package"The Miniature Fly Book, To open the book you lift up the front flap like the cover of a matchbook. The card stock inside the plastic is white with black print. Each"Killer Ant" has a different color body: 1 black, 1 red, 1 amber. The ants are approx. 5/8" long and the plastic matchbook measures 3 3/4" long by 1 1/2" wide. The package says they are for trout and panfish. They come to you from the shelves of a long ago closed family sporting goods shop, ... moreand are in very, very good vintage unused condition. I did not remove the card from the plastic when I took the pictures, I just lifted the cover for a more clear shot. Trout flies, t.m. reg. pat. pend" They have a sproat# 12 hook, and tied with Gantron fluorescent fiber. The outside of box has"Craftsman Fishing Tackle" stamp all over it.
