A nice Jock Scott fly in good condition. a good catcher in its day and to the present day also. Probably one of the more famous and recognisable patterns. The jock Scott is said to be one of the most pure of classic Salmon flies as it has had very few variants since it conception around 1890. J.H.Hale. J.Hardy, Herbert Maxwell and Francis all helped in the design and development of the original classic patterns like these. Condition is very good with a nice gut eyes. THE"GREY HERON" SPEY SALMON FLY ~ GUT EYE A rare gut eye spey salmon fly. A nice tying which i believe to be unused, the fly is from my collection and i only have one and ever seen one to my knowledge! most of the old spey fly patterns are no longer used and i think the"Lady Caroline" is about the only one still used today. The twisted gut eye is small but it is twisted and in good condition. There is a tiny amount of rust just behind the hook barb. It is only superficial and has not penetrated into the metal. The Lady Amherst An early tying of the"lady Amherst" on a double size1/0 hook. Very good gut eye. It is not know who or when the Lady Amherst was first brought upon the salmon fishing seen. One thought is that it was designed in Canada because most of the fly's history can be associated with Canada. The Lady Amherst is responsible for many records and can be considered one of the youngest of the true Classics

The"Sir Richard" size 4 and a"Wasp" size 6 variant, the flies are both in excellent mint condition. The Sir Richard is a rare and very detailed tying. It was first conceived in 1855 by Captain R Waddle Griffith. It was accountable for 13 fish on the Northumberland Tyne totalling 238lbs, one of the catch came in at 39lbs and the sir Richard used was tied on a small size 12 hook. Sizes ~ 4& 6
