Here is a nice vintage English made fly container. It is in good used condition with some normal usage marking/tarnish(see clear picture to decide before bidding) It is a Silmalloy fly container by Richard Wheatley and is the compartment and clip version. I must say that a few(maybe 3 or 4) do not automatically spring open but can be easily rectified. The compartments contain a number of flies to card and appear to be Hardy flies judging by some of them. There is a number of used flies also on the clips and approx 40 flies in total. The carded ones in the compartments appear to be unused. This particular model not seen for sale that often! Original felt pad in lid which has been nibbled by the inevitable moth. It does have some tarnish but contains a good amount of flies in good condition(approx 80+) in a variety of styles and sizes. Not often seen for sale. I am selling these for a friend and her father was an avid salmon fisherman. As a matter of fact. He was a former president of the Penobscot Salmon Club in Brewer, Maine. His uncle invented the Colburn Special Fly and he used these flies to fish in Cherryfield, Maine to fish for Atlantic Salmon. There are some beautiful flies in this collection and they are all hand tied.
