VINTAGE DEER HAIR FLY LURE. I have up for auction a vintage deer hair lure it is in near new condition. Not sure of the maker but it is a neat looking lure. It is white and an olive green colored lure with a mix of yellow, It is approximately 3' long and has a piece of mono line built in to make it weedless. It has plastic eyes attached to it and the hook is clean and sharp and what appears to be feathers on the tail end, Maybe a trout fly or maybe used as a bass plug. These flies were tied to raise money and awareness to save the Big Hole River. Comes in a clear plastic display box. From George's Obituary; George Grant. A celebrated fly fisherman and Montana conservationist who cherished the Big Hole River and successfully fought construction of a dam there, has died at the age of 102. Grant died of natural causes Sunday in Butte. He had an international reputation for fly tying. With a pattern called the Black Creeper perhaps his most famous. Grant’s conservation work included fighting, with some landowners, the proposed 1960s construction of Raichle Dam on the main stem of the Big Hole, one of the state’s top fishing streams. Box measures roughly 14" long by 6" deep by 7" tall. It has 2 removable trays. The one on the bottom may not be original to the box. Both trays have cork lining on them, but it's just sitting there loose, not adhered to the trays. There is also a second metal fly box and a leader tin included with the tackle box. Both have flies. Leaders, ect. in them. There are over 20 Bass Bugs in the top tray of the box. Most of them are older and look like South Bend. Heddon, Tuttle, Creek Chub, ect.
