Vintage leather fly wallet with 36 Atlantic salmon flies
For sale is a vintage leather fly wallet containing 36 antique and contemporary salmon flies that were tied for fishing New Brunswick's Miramichi River. The wallet was formerly owned by William Costello(who probably tied some of the contemporary full-dressed flies) and gave the wallet to me when he was no longer able to enjoy his sport. The wallet has 8 envelopes for leaders or materials. 8 leaves with pockets on both sides for various flies, 2 thick felt leaves, and 2 pages with tabs on both sides to hold 36 salmon flies(included, as shown) The wallet measures 4" x 6½" x 2" thick)

An early Victorian fly wallet made for the firm of Bernard. Church Place, PICCADILLY before the son was born and they moved to the better known address of Jermyn Street. The parchment interior is set up to take three fly sprays each side of the page and has a double folding pocket to the front and rear flaps. The wallet has two pages that have spring tensioners back to back for a total of four places to neatly organize your flies with pre tied tippet. Each separated by some type of wool/fabric spacer to keep flies dry. Very cool and useful even today. One button is beginning to get a little soft but still functions. The other button used for a full wallet is like new. If used i would suggest using that button to keep the wallet closed. Complete with 11 pre tied flies with tippet and 5 flies without the tippet. Metal binder inside has 7 envelopes with flaps and clear covered fronts. Has two felt inserts. Wallet has deterioration on cloth liner on inside which can be seen in photos. There are at a rough count 50 vintage. Very nice hand tied streamers, tandems. snelled flies, bass flies and dry flies. This is a very early fly wallet and a great lot of early hand tied flies.

Antique Leather Fly Fishing Wallet with approx 80 Original Flies c1890 The owner's name is written in ink inside the wallet. It looks to be D A Topley. Though I cannot be certain. His address is Avenue Street. There is a road of that name in Ripley, which is less than 5 miles away from where I acquired this wallet, so it seems to have remained in the area all its life. There is no date in the folder but it is almost certainly late Victorian. There is a small paper wallet of the fishing rod and tackle maker W J Cummins inside which is useful for dating purposes. It mentions the International Fisheries Exhibition of 1883. The leather wallet measures around 163mm by 100mm. And contains around 80 flies. Some are in compartments with hand written details alongside. Some of the contents might have got a little mixed up over the years, But I ... morehave not moved anything and the wallet is exactly as it was when I acquired it. scarce huge old vintage antique handmade fly fishing lure lot in leather wallet
What a splendid find! Very old high quality leather wallet for lures. Full of actual lures. There is some deterioration(see photos) to the leather inside the wallet- the contains are made of parchment'pages' with pockets. The wallet is filled with a large lot of different lures, all appear to be old and hand made. I know very little on this subject, hence I couldn't understand the handwritten remarks next to each kind of bait. Some are very small, some are large, all have hooks. I counted appr. 50 lures, but it seems the exact amount is actually higher. This is absolutely a must for all serious fishing tackle or sports collector!

This is a Vintage Leather Fly Wallet. This wallet is in great shape and has lots of texture. It is still very pliable. The inside leaves are felt and leather edging that makes for pockets for the flys to slide into. The streamers are both single and tandem style hooks. Some have the names with them. This vintage Grampus Fly Case is in exceptional condition with some rubbing on the outside as seen in the pictures but the inside is immaculate.
