Vintage leather fly fishing pouch with 42 flies! Estate find! I do not know anything about fly fishing or flies. Hopefully the pictures tell all. It is very cool, old and musty but cool! I counted approximately 42 flies. Some look fancy, others don't. They are all kind of stuck to the cloth and I didn't want to risk damaging anything or hooking myself! The pouch definitely shows wear. The leather is not stiff or cracked so it will probably clean up nicely. Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional photos. scarce huge old vintage antique handmade fly fishing lure lot in leather wallet
What a splendid find! Very old high quality leather wallet for lures. Full of actual lures. There is some deterioration(see photos) to the leather inside the wallet- the contains are made of parchment'pages' with pockets. The wallet is filled with a large lot of different lures, all appear to be old and hand made. I know very little on this subject, hence I couldn't understand the handwritten remarks next to each kind of bait. Some are very small, some are large, all have hooks. I counted appr. 50 lures, but it seems the exact amount is actually higher. This is absolutely a must for all serious fishing tackle or sports collector!

This is the classic wallet with four thick felt leaves and each inside flap lined with sheepskin to form a pocket. In one pocket are two vintage leaders. I think this is from the 1930s and it has vintage flies on the felt. Most are snelled wet flies.typical of the era. I count 63 flies. The wallet is about 7 1/2 inches by 4 1/4 inches. I find no makers marks or logo anywhere on the wallet. Condition is as you see it in the photos. I dont see any damage on the flies or rusted hooks but given the age some may have been fished. A fine quality vintage tan leather fishing wallet by A Carter& Co Ltd of Rosebery Avenue. St. Johns St London E C. This is in good vintage condition, but more information in the report above so please take a moment to read it. Inside are stitched stiff paper pockets to hold the flies and lures and there are still quite a few present- more than I have photographed and on a lot of the pages are the names, written using an old fashioned manual typewriter. The wallet measures approx 6 1/2" x 4 1/2" about 2" thick and it weighs about 275 g. I am not an expert on fishing, but will try to answer any questions that may arise.
