Vintage Fishing Tackle Box. Vintage fishing gear, vintage fly boxes, and a load of flies! I picked up all of these items at an estate sale, ill do my best to describe them, some items are pretty used, some are in very nice used condition, please see all photos, you get what you see in photos, if youd like more photos or have any questions please ask ill be happy to answer or send pics. This is a great old lot of vintage fishing gear- dont let it be the one that got away! The lot contains- 1 Vintage Creek Chub Lure- Dace good condition 1 vintage Climax Hamilton fishing Tackle box. In very good condition for an old tackle box. Has no dents, has scratching as would be found on any old tackle box, but in very nice condition. No rust. nameplate is nice- no rust on that. 1 vintage metal weber fly box with hinged insert. There are about 72 flies ... morein this one please see photo 8.9 and 12. i dont know flies so i cant name them, but they look to be very nicely done and in very good condition. 1 vintage metal fly box. Has a makers mark on it, but i dont know it, this one contains about 50 flies, see photo 5. Also very nice flies in nice condition. 11 vintage flies still in packages. 2 are LL Bean, 9 are tied by Bert Quimby, South Windham Maine. Never used vintage flies. Some of the Bert Quimby ones have lost the plastic outer packaging over the years but are still on the original card. 1 1/2 full old bottle of Pfluger Speede Reel Oil. Not sure if the contents are good. But its a neat old vintage item, would look great in a collection. 1 Metal Coleman Flask. In good condition. Has surface scratches. No dents. used in good condition. 7 old fishing spoons. Please see photos condition on these is very used- one has rust issues, the rest have paint loss, they are pretty used-but still have life in them, or would be great for a vinatge fishing gear collection. one of them is marked Dardevles IMP U.S.A. 4 treble hooks with large sinkers 4 plastic bobbers. 2 are your everyday red& white bobbers, 2 look more vintage, goo

You are bidding on a Bert Quimby LADY GHOST tied on a size 2 loop eye ALLCOCKS hook 2811S(The famous Carrie Stevens hook) purchased by me in the 1950's This streamer fly is very unusual as it is called a GHOST but is tied with badger saddle hackles. Golden pheasant crests and Reeves Pheasant shoulders. This in this classic style is rarely tied. May be great in a frame. Bert Quimby is also famous for his GREEN GHOST.

Bert Quimby had his finger on the pulse of northeastern streamer development and influenced it to a degree that few today may realize. Bert Quimby worked as a guide. Camp manager and newspaper reporter, a vocation shared by some fellow streamer notables such as Gene Letourneau. It was while working as a reporter that Quimby first met Ai Wellington Ballou- generally acknowledged as the father of the marabou streamer. Why exactly Bert was at the mouth of the Songo River on Sebago Lake is unclear, but this meeting may have had a profound impact on not only Quimby's life, but also Maine streamer history in general. For Ballou not only went on to coach ... moreBert Quimby on the finer points of fishing, but more importantly, also gave him his indoctrination into the craft of fly tying. A rather fortunate set of circumstances for other Maine anglers to come, both prominent and otherwise, as well as for us today. From South Windham. Maine, where he resided, Bert Quimby would not only generate his own streamer designs, but would also have a hand in many other soon-to-be-well-known patterns. As for his own flies, he is perhaps best known for the Green Ghost and Lady Ghost. The Green Ghost is thought to have evolved from a melding of Carrie Stevens' Gray Ghost and the interest in green-winged streamers of the day, attributed to the popularity of the Dr. Sanborn's Nine-Three. Both the Green and Lady Ghosts were chiefly known and used as trolling flies during that time. It has been said that in Maine during the 1940's and 1950's, the Lady Ghost was considered by many to be an indispensable pattern. Windham Hill, South Windham, Maine CossoBoom- Size 6- Plastic cover is ripped over hook Night Hawk Size 8- Fully sealed(1) tied by Tom Lloyd Jr. Hartford. Conn. Orange Demon(2) tied by Bill Howell. Bangor Maine"Golden Witch" Seal open on back of card Bear Hair- Looks like a litte rust on the hook and front tip(1) tied by Mickey Finn(H. Warren Maddocks) Dover Foxcroft Maine This is unsealed and there is some rust on hooks(1) Hugh's Troller#108. Gray Ghost Size 4 sealed looks like a little rust on hook(2) unnamed on cards. Green Rhost#2 sealed Arnold. Salmon Trout, Size 2, Cherryfield Maine two hooks, seal is open and some rust on hooks. These all were never used but were found at an estate in a old basement.
