Vintage leather fly wallet with 36 Atlantic salmon flies
For sale is a vintage leather fly wallet containing 36 antique and contemporary salmon flies that were tied for fishing New Brunswick's Miramichi River. The wallet was formerly owned by William Costello(who probably tied some of the contemporary full-dressed flies) and gave the wallet to me when he was no longer able to enjoy his sport. The wallet has 8 envelopes for leaders or materials. 8 leaves with pockets on both sides for various flies, 2 thick felt leaves, and 2 pages with tabs on both sides to hold 36 salmon flies(included, as shown) The wallet measures 4" x 6½" x 2" thick)

Vintage leather fly fishing pouch with 42 flies! Estate find! I do not know anything about fly fishing or flies. Hopefully the pictures tell all. It is very cool, old and musty but cool! I counted approximately 42 flies. Some look fancy, others don't. They are all kind of stuck to the cloth and I didn't want to risk damaging anything or hooking myself! An early Victorian fly wallet made for the firm of Bernard. Church Place, PICCADILLY before the son was born and they moved to the better known address of Jermyn Street. The parchment interior is set up to take three fly sprays each side of the page and has a double folding pocket to the front and rear flaps. Clearly marked Bernard, Church Place, PICCADILLY to interior flap. The wallet shows its age and in places has had insect damage but a rare wallet and will benefit from a little renovation. 1920 K& L COMMON SENSE Fly Wallet measures 5x7" Pat date Oct. 1913. Roughness and wear along right and left edges with some wear on surfaces. Has a double male snap on front. Metal binder inside has 7 envelopes with flaps and clear covered fronts. Has two felt inserts. Wallet has deterioration on cloth liner on inside which can be seen in photos. There are at a rough count 50 vintage. Very nice hand tied streamers, tandems. snelled flies, bass flies and dry flies. This is a very early fly wallet and a great lot of early hand tied flies.

What a splendid find! Very old high quality leather wallet for lures. Full of actual lures. There is some deterioration(see photos) to the leather inside the wallet- the contains are made of parchment'pages' with pockets. The wallet is filled with a large lot of different lures, all appear to be old and hand made. I know very little on this subject, hence I couldn't understand the handwritten remarks next to each kind of bait. Some are very small, some are large, all have hooks. I counted appr. 50 lures, but it seems the exact amount is actually higher. This is absolutely a must for all serious fishing tackle or sports collector!

This is a Vintage Wheatley Silmalloy Fly Box. This is the larger model and has a 16 hinged compartments and a RARE Leather Envelope with tweezers. The tweezers are not original but they are old. The envelope I think was to store your gut leader packets to keep dry and out of the way. The box is in great shape and very clean. There are a few small dents that I can see. This is the classic wallet with four thick felt leaves and each inside flap lined with sheepskin to form a pocket. In one pocket are two vintage leaders. I think this is from the 1930s and it has vintage flies on the felt. Most are snelled wet flies.typical of the era. I count 63 flies. The wallet is about 7 1/2 inches by 4 1/4 inches. I find no makers marks or logo anywhere on the wallet. Condition is as you see it in the photos. I dont see any damage on the flies or rusted hooks but given the age some may have been fished.
