They are all right handed and are: 300 A with the red lines. Two 300's one is missing the black finger tab on the handle, and a 308 with a spare spool. Also included is the large spool case. Look to be from the 1950's, one is missing the handle the other has a little paint loss but seems good, 300 a little paint loss and seems to work fine, and the 4th one I cannot find the model number since it looks to have been repainted, it is larger than the others works ok but the bail is bent. Vintage Garcia Mitchell 300 fishing reel. Open-face spinning, salt water, includes 5 spools, Made in France. Sport fishing, This legendary open face spinning reel is in good condition. Works great but there are a few spots where the black finish has chipped off. One of the great features of this reel is that you can change spools of line with a single push of a button. Each spool has its own tension adjustment that can be left in place when you change spools. This offer includes the reel, and 4 spools, some with line and 2 have storage cases. The line may need to be changed due to age. One spool has some writing on it in what may be white paint. We try to show item condition with good photographs but please email with any questions. This reel was introduced in 1939 and continued manufacture until 1986. During that time. Several improvements ... morewere made to the basic design and material. I cannot date this specific reel. It, along with the extra spools, was made in France by Carpano and Pons and was designed by Maurice Jocomin. This company. Which was founded as Carpano-Jacottet in 1868, primarily produced watch gears and related items. This company introduced the Mitchell 300, the most well known open-faced spinning reel ever produced. Between 1947 and 1978, Charles Garcia’s import company, Impecco, was the sole US distributor of the Mitchell line of reels. In 1974. Garcia purchased Mitchell, which was, in turn, purchased by Browning in 1980. The rest of the story, as they say, is now history. Vintage Mitchell Reels Lot of 4 Half Bail Garcia 320 300A and 300 w Extra spools
This is a very nice Lot of FOUR Vintage Mitchell fishing reels. All are in working condition. Lot includes 3 extra spools in cases. 2 spare case bottoms and 1(must be rare) tin spool container. Here are details on each reel. Mitchell Half Bail: No handle on this. The only numbers I can read on the serial number are 15. The mounting has a small chip at one corner. Has some paint chipped off. Vintage Pre-Garcia Mitchell (300) Serial #599290 Version 4 - 1954 Reel + Spool
Here is a decent clean and good working Mitchell 300 reel. This is a rare and early Pre-Garcia. With no Garcia or 300 marking. Serial number on this is 599290, and the Mitchell Museum online would date this as 1954, the last version before the started putting the"300" designation on them(it was a catalog number but not on the reel plate) Some normal signs of use, a few places with some paint wear and some spot bubbling. This is one of the early styles, without the Garcia name or the 300 designation stampings. Works well- you can turn the handle and let go, and it spins a ways before it stops. Bail and anti-reverse works fine, and both spools(1 deep, 1 shallow) have working drag. Both spools with this have no line, and the spare spool is NOS with paper wrap, but the box lid has a little crack. Auction price includes free mailing ... morevia priority anywhere in the USA only.
