This Orvis 100-S is a very hard to find reel. Made in Italy by Zangi in the early 1950'S. Medium size reel with full bail& strong bail spring. Also features a clicker/anti reverse lever next to the handle. Reel is marked made in Italy. Cranks smooth and bail flips great. The Trout Logo is very visually strong and detailed to the viewer. For sale is a vintage Orvis 100 spinning reel with its original 2 piece box and spare spool. The reel was made in Italy for the Charles F. Orvis Co. of Manchester. VT. Finished in a gunmetal type grey the reel has some minor rash and rub marks but is in overall good condition. The anti-reverse and clicker lever has a small chip in it. Mechanically the reel is in good condition. The bail is strong. The anti-reverse and clicker lever works well and the handle turns easily. The box is intact but is only in good condition because of wear and some corners that have come loose. While it probably needs to be serviced this is nice. Early example of these beautifully made old reels. The price includes free shipping in the US. Two Vintage Orvis 100 Spinning Fishing Reels Made in Italy
Here are Two Vintage Orvis 100 Spinning Fishing Reels Made in Italy. One has a broken part inside the housing. But this appears to be the only thing wrong(other than it will need some cleaning/oiling/greasing) I do not know the name of the part, but it is the arm that attaches to the end of the spindle shaft and looks like just the tip has broken off. All parts are present to make this a complete reel(even the little screw to attach the arm to the spindle) except for the broken part mentioned. The other reel is a complete reel with all mechanical functions working nicely, but reels just a little stiffer than it did when new(not bad) probably because it needs a fresh shot of oil and grease. The complete working reels shows some typical rubs and ware for one of this vintage, mostly on the rotating head. Vintage Orvis 100 spinning reel w box & instructions, made in Italy
Up for auction is a vintage Orvis 100 spinning reel made by the Zangi Co of Italy for the Charles F Orvis Co This reel is a medium size reel and it comes with its original box and instructions. It is the first version made in 1954 and has a knurled handle knob and a two piece blue box. Mechanically it is in very good condition with a smooth retreive. A strong bail spring, and a funtioning anti-reverse, however it is missing its spool, Appearance wise it shows minimal paint loss and has a small piece broken off the end of the foot. UP FOR SALE IS THIS OVERALL NICE USED 100 ORVIS REEL MADE IN ITALY. I GUESS ITS A"PARTS" REEL BECAUSE THE MAIN SHAFT IS BENT A LITTLE& ON THE REEL STROKE IT CATCHES AT THE BOTTOM OF THE STROKE. COULD IT PERHAPS BE BENT OR RE-ALIGNED? BAIL SPRING& BAIL CLICKER. ANTI REVERSE AND DRAG ALL SEEM FINE. THE FINISH SHOWS SOME WEAR BUT NOT BAD OVERALL.
