Here we a lot of TWO Vintage Mitchell Fishing Reels. One is a very nice Garcia Mitchell 406 and the other is a"Pre-Garcia" Mitchell 300. Scrapes and Scratches from storage but look to have had little use. Reels are in as found working condition. Look to just need a quick cleanup and its ready for display. I purchased this reel here on Ebay in December of 2002& it has sat in it's shipping box since then. Until now when it is once again here for sale on EBay. This is an antique/vintage Garcia Mitchell 406 Reel. It has a wooden knob on the handle. It has some rust by the handle knob and pitting on the handle and the bail mechanism. It casts and returns good. Also. It has some some corrosion. I have not attempted to clean it up because I believe it is very old. It maybe black or blue(greenish tint) The serial number on the foot is worn and the best I can make out is 49(6)5(1/7)7. The Pat No. is 2 726 052. My limited research has lead me to believe it is old and rare because of the wooden knob(I didn't find any) and the foot serial number. If you have any questions, please contact me. This reel is new in box with what I believe to be all the papers. It has never been used just shoved in a closet since the 60's is my guess. A friend of the family was given this when he was a wild life cameraman in the 60's and he passed it to me. The box shows age but the reel and paper work are great Original box. Reel, accessories page, Mitchell 8 page owners Manuel, warranty card. Some minor scuffs from being bounced around in box also a Mitchell 306-307 50 page owners manual with minor wear. This piece would be great for any collection or museum or if you just wanted to go fishing with a piece of history. I believe it is the second series because the bail seems to open in any position. This auction is for used parts of vintage spinning reels. The Ted Williams reel is in really nice shape but it is missing the knob on the hand crank for it was snapped off. The Garcia Mitchell# 406 from France does not have the hand crank and looks to be heavily used. There is one extra hand crank with a red label on it that says.High Speed. Up for bid is a Garcia Mitchell 406 High speed spinning reel in excellent or better condition. This one is easy to describe: Darn near perfect! It is blue in color and the handle has the High speed sticker on it. It is made in France and is stamped France on the reel foot and the backside of the rotor. The reel shows almost no wear in the anodizing. I can find a few small scratches and will try and capture them in pictures so please see pictures as they are part of the description. The reel turns smoothly and the bail snaps back open and closed. It is all original. This is a excellent hard to find spinning reel. It retrieves nice and smoothly. Other than a few light surface scratches and scuffs(which can be seen in the pictures) the reel is in good condition. The serial number on the foot is 546332.
