Mitchell 304 CAP Dating from the 1950's, the serial number 221421 is stamped on the housing. Used but still in very good working order. Just add line if you want to fish with it. The crosswind gearing turns very freely and smoothly with a nice gentle purr from the gears. The bail return is strong as these always are and it has a nicely ticking optional anti reverse. Visually most of the black finish remains but there is some damage on the foot and stem. Also a little rubbing on the lower edge of the housing. See pictures for details. Mitchell 304– 1953-1972 = 2.992,405 Units Mitchell 305– 1955-1970 = 204,034 Units In the mid-thirties La Canne à Pêche poorly translated to“The Cane to Fishes” locates in Angers, France started developing a reel they named after their own company called the C.A.P. While they did succeed in at least two“prototypes” we know of but not shown, they went to Carpano& Pons for further development and production and by 1939, mass production of the C.A.P(and The Mitchell) began in Cluses, France. Vintage Mitchell CAP 305 Spinning Reel With Red/Black Box Made in France
Vintage Mitchell Cap Reel. On one side of the reel it say's Mitchell CAP. On the other side of the reel it say's Made in France and CAP. I see no other writing on this reel. I tried an extra spool on this reel that is marked 304-305 and it fit perfectly. So I believe this reel is a 305. The crank is on the right side for left handed people. There is some paint wear. Please see photo's. It has a clicker anti-reverse. All systems work. Good Used Vintage Condition. It also comes with a red/black plastic storage box. On the box it say's 301 on a paper tag so I do not think this box is original with this reel. The box also has Mitchell on the bottom of the box.

5 Vintage Garcia Mitchell 304 reels 1 is a CAP. one there is a spring issue it is free for you to fix or use for parts These are all useable reels that are functional but are uncleaned and have been used at one time. Most of what you see is dirty not scratches but these are not scratch free reels. I can tell you that I will clean these and will ask for more then. Bid on them at $20 each and the minimal $26 buy it now for each they go from $30-50 cleaned plus shipping depending on the condition. If you make a early bid and not buy it now(taking a chance someone may bid so I am making the buy it now at the minimal) I will not wait and I will end listings at 6pm est the following day.
