Basically this is a 300 with a slightly higher gear ratio. 4.2:1 and a gasket between the body and side plate. There were many slightly different versions of 300A produced by Mitchell from 1977/78 right through the 80's& 90's Used but still i n excellen t good working order. Free. Silky s mooth and very quiet to wind. Good crisp bail return and the optional anti reverseis silent on this i one and locks as it should. The lettering on t he name plate is really good. Although the red line on the roto r is missing in place the information is all readable. The paint on the AR lever is rubbed but the reat of the black finish is generally very good. That said there are small scuff marks on the foot and the usual rubbing on the lower edge of the housing, see pictures for details. I have other reels that may interest you. It’s exceptionally clean and works just like new. I would rate it at Very Good. It appears to have been used very little. It does have some oxidation on the aluminum handle. The aforementioned is the only negative aspect of the reel. I see no boat rash. Mars, rubs, scratches, etc. anywhere. Hardly a mark from being mounted to a rod. I see no screwdriver marks on any of the screws. All functions such as the bail. Reeling action, anti-reverse, drag, etc. all work sure and smooth. It has a gear ratio of 4.2:1. Made in France. The serial number on the rod mount reads H029201 The line capacities are: 275 yards of 10 lb. test 250 yards of 12 lb. test 200 yards of 15 lb. test PLEASE NOTE: I do not take reels apart for any reason before selling them. For Buy it Now is a Garcia Mitchell 300A spinning reel. With carbon graphite spool, made in France. This reel is very clean and appears to have not been used very much. The printed graphics are sharp and not worn, the chrome bail shines with virtually no pitting, and the black paint has a very good gloss, with just some light scuff and scratch wear. To test it out I made about 10 casts, and it casts and cranks smoothly and feels well lubricated. The bail opens and flips back crisply, the anti reverse works properly, and the drag works as it should. The used line on this reel has some memory coil, so you will want to add your own choice of line brand and weight. This collectable Garcia Mitchell reel is ready to use. Sold with PayPal only.
