VINTAGE MITCHELL 300 HALF BAIL REEL WITH EXTRA SPOOL. ORIGINAL PAPERWORK AND BOX! This model 300 Mitchell indicates it was manufactured in France. There is what appears to be the letter X and then the numbers 58355 stamped which are shown in one of the pictures. This reel appears to be complete. In original untampered condition with much less than normal wear for its age! Screw heads appear to be unused. Handle original and very little scratch or wear to the body. This reel appears to have lived most its days in the original box.not on the end of a fishing rod! Also included is an extra spool in a metal container. A 23 page instructional manual with 2 pages dedicated as Mitchell reel parts list with replacement prices, which may be a little more costly today! I also have"The Spin Fisherman" copyright 1952 which I will include with ... morethis sale. Both in excellent condition! The box shows its age.but still in good condition and shows a pencil mark price of $29.75 above the Mitchell logo inside the box. I took 11 pictures to try and show how good this reels condition is in along with the accessories and Mitchell instructional manual. The second is a later Garcia Mitchell in the properly serial numbered plastic box. The original reel in this box has been used and remains in good condition. Up for bids is a rare Mitchell 300 Half Bail reel in excellent condition. With really decent box and original extra spool with aluminum housing. Reel has some rubs on edging as is common with any used reel but still super for such an oldie. SN nope! Only a'V' on bottom foot indicating it is from 1946-1949. Please view pics and bid accordingly. Box top does have one of those obvious oil stain or something so not perfect cosmetically but the integrity of the box is as good as you find- all edges perfect without splits and also with the square cardboard spacer still there! Mitchell 300 half bail Third version. Low serial number A 08677 I found this at a Garage sale. And used it for three years. I lost the knob that holds the spool on. It is a beater, but still has usable parts. The spring mechanism in the spool looks different than the ones I find for sale on line. Perhaps this is of some significance to reel collectors. A picture of the reel mechanism is incuded. The anti reverse does not work now. But it did before I lubricated it. Price is started low. good luck.

VTG 1949 MITCHELL 300 HALF BAIL REEL EXC IN BLUE BOX + SPARE SPOOL & CONTAINER
Up for bids is a(pre 300& Mitchell) Mitchell 300 Half-bail reel in Blue Box with extra spool and case. Rare to find is this condition- EXCELLENT. Serial#A17668 on foot indicates manufactured in 1949. Foot has minor paint loss on edge from mounting(tight fitting reel seat was was common on'20s-40s rods) a very. Very minor rub at lube screw and housing edge. Otherwise the reel is perfect. Bail functions perfect as does the anti-reverse. The bail itself has no corrosion! Most bails on these oldies have pitting with corrosion- not this one! The original round handle has no paint loss- best Half-bail handle I've ever seen. This reel was hardly used! Nice Blue Box. I believe to be original, with extra spool and case(both spools proper with this reel- aluminum backing, see pics) The spare spool still has the protective pad on top(1 lg. ... more1 sm. capacity) Bottom of box has standard splits/cracks/dents from reel/spool placement- but still in very good condition. Has the'Fair Traded' stamp on bottom. Top as good as they get with this age. Totally intact with minor stain spots. All the edges/corners without splits- although some wear with blue missing right along the edging. Tried to show different angles/sides of box. Please view pics and bid accordingly. Third version, pre-300 spinning reel rmade in France. The reel has no serial numbers indicating that it is an early release reel made between 1946 and 1949. Mechanically the reel functions properly with all operations checked. Cosmetically the reel is not bad for 60 years old. The reel has decent paint and vivid graphics. The reel does have wear to bare metal and red primer on the edge of the foot, stem, edges of the bell and bottom of the case. Despite the cosmetic concerns, this is still a somewhat uncommon reel that will make a nice addition to a vintage tackle collection. The location of the stamp"Made in France" is located on the front of the reels housing(opposed to the rear) Also the Anti reverse is a knob as opposed to a lever. Half Bail Mitchell reels were only manufactured up to 1953, with a total production in that year of 269,777* Some normal wear. The reel is in excellent physical and mechanical condition.
