Very nice VINTAGE GARCIA MITCHELL 308 SPINNING REEL with Excellent Mechanics to the best that I can tell with the exception of the drag does not have a lot of play left in the adjustment: washers are probably worn. There are some minor signs of use with a little dirt or dust in the cracks or crevices. But definitely nothing major for sure(see pics) The edges on both ends of the reel foot have been trimmed down slightly so the reel will fit on the reel seat of almost any rod, no matter how small. It says FRANCE on the bottom of the reel foot with the number 751955. Please see pics as they are part of the description. What you see and what I have described is what you get. You are looking at a bundle of Vintage Garcia/Mitchell freshwater reels and an extra spool. The first reel is a Mitchell 300 and should be considered a' parts' reel only. It comes with an extra spool and case. The spool and case are in super nice shape; the threads are still tight on the lid! The second reel is a little Garcia/Mitchell 308. This reel is in great shape! The bail opens and closes crisply. There is no lag or(half-closed) bail when you start reeling. This reel should still be used by someone! Both these belonged to my Uncle who divided his time between Northwestern Michigan and Florida. He can no longer fish and my Aunt asked me to help her find new homes for his gear. Up for sale is a vintage Garcia Mitchell 308 spinning reel. The reel comes with the original box. 2 manuals and a unused/new extra spool. The reel itself is in excellent condition mechanically and is ready to fish. Cosmetically it is in very good condition as well. It is clean inside and out and has little to no boat rash. There are a few scuffs here and there but nothing major. I can make out all but one of the#s on the foot. Here is the one's I can make out: D0?5203. The" looks like either a 5 or 6. The#s are hard to read, not because of wear but because the stamping looks light and slightly off. The box is also in very good condition with very minor scuffs here and there. Up for bid is a Garcia Mitchell 308 Spool with line still on it. And it's spool container that it came in. This is a Vintage spool and the tag on the bottom of the spool has the following information on it. 4lb. test 100 yards, and dated April 26, 1969. That is 45 years ago and almost as old as me. This little set-up also comes with its own little line holder that goes around the line on the spool. It looks like it was a production set-up made from Velcro and fish hook like attachments.
