Here's a Mitchell 308 Prince Spinning Reel that's all original and in working condition. The reel is believed to be from around the early 60's and comes with an extra spool and case for it. There's no box or paperwork included. The reel weighs 7.6 ounces w/o line. Has a micro adjusting drag, quick release spool- which doesn't change the drag setting and a gear ratio of around 5 to 1. Very nice VINTAGE GARCIA MITCHELL 308 SPINNING REEL with Excellent Mechanics to the best that I can tell with the exception of the drag does not have a lot of play left in the adjustment: washers are probably worn. There are some minor signs of use with a little dirt or dust in the cracks or crevices. But definitely nothing major for sure(see pics) The edges on both ends of the reel foot have been trimmed down slightly so the reel will fit on the reel seat of almost any rod, no matter how small. Here is a Nice Vintage garcia Mitchell 308 Spinning Fishing Reel MADE IN FRANCE with the much sought after double red band around the rotating head. Also. Somewhat different is the white painted aluminum spool(factory done) as shown. Of course there are some minimal signs of use, but hardly anything really for the vintage with only a minor paint scrape/scratch. Mechanics are great for all functions. On the bottom of the reel foot is the number H011101 and the word FRANCE. Under the rotating head it says MADE IN FRANCE 5 U.S. PATENT 2 726 052. The retrieve ratio is 4.6:1 and will hold 300 yards of 4 lb. line, 200 yards of 6 lb. line and 150 yards of 8 lb. line. Vintage Mitchell Garcia 308 Spinning Reel Spool 6 POUND TEST? I am unsure of what that means. This was from my grandfather's estate. He was an avid fisherman and loved Garcia Mitchell. He was an active fisherman from his teens through his 70's before Alzheimer's took that away. This is one of his replacements as found in his fishing cabinet.
