Vintage Centaure Caribe Spinning Reel from the early 60's
Up for auction is a vintage Centaure Caribe spinning reel manufactured in France and in very good condition. This reel was used by a good friend of mine throughout the sixties when he fished tail end reef in the keys. He maintained all of his fishing gear in great condition and this one was modified to a manual bail pickup with over size roller. These reels were one of the top reels of the era and the club fisherman from that era used many of these reels and held them in high regard. They were known to be reliable reels and for good drags. A half-bail or as some call it, an open face, this reel is in Extremely good condition with very little ware and NO rust or corrosion. It was one of the finest precision spinning reels ever made. Anodized aluminum with stainless steel gears, it was made to be rust and corrosion resistant. Highly versatile, the rugged, Centaure was made for salmon or larger freshwater fish such as muskie, pike and large bass. Here are 2 Vintage 1940"s Centaure Pacific Fench fishing reels. Made in france. Both reels need minor repair. All of the functions of the black reel work properly and the reel appease to be complete, but it has damage to the gear cover, this is seen in the photos. The brown reel is miising a scew and the end cap, this is seen in the photos. The reel is a little stiff(needs grease) and the bale needs to be straighened. Vintage 1950's-1960's CENTAURE French Spinning Reel-expertly tested and passed without issues. The previous owner put his nickname. Rokin, on the reel seat. Interestingly, that stands for Robert Kinoshita, the originator of"Robby the Robot" of Forbidden Planet, and"Robot" of Lost in Space. A centenarian. Mr. Kinoshita brought intelligence and insight to all of his activities, including his fishing equipment. Stay tuned-we'll offer more items from his long and storied career. Vintage Centaure PACIFIC Half Bail Spinning Reel - France - 1940's-50's
Up for auction this week is a Vintage Centaure PACIFIC Spinning Reel. Her serial number is 703416. I believe these reels were made in the late 1940's- early 1950's. This is a neat looking reel and appears to be well made! She measures about 6" long and 4 1/2" high. She weighs 13.2 oz. Up for auction with low opening bid and NO RESERVE! A Vintage(1940-50's? French made Centaure PACIFIC 1/2 Bail Spinning Reel. Weighs 15.9 ounces. I picked this Spinning Reel up at an Estate Sale along with a bunch more(many varieties) and fishing poles that I will be listing. I am not a fisherman so I will do my best to describe. I do know they are vintage as the family said the grandpa(pasted away 5 years ago in his late 80's) had not been fishing for years. This Spinning Reel appears to be made out of Aluminum and the finish is worn in places. But the everything works including the clicker! From what I have learned it can be used either a right or left handed. Has a trout and a Centuar shield logo. The writing on the reel reads: C.F.C.E BteS G.D.G. Rare Vintage Centaure Pacific Right/left Handed Spinning Reel. Read Description
Up for bid is a very rare. Vintage Centaure Pacific right or left handed spinning reel. Made in France. This reel is in decent condition, does have paint wear and some scratch wear though, along with some wear on the spool from coming in contact with the bail. The reel also has a problem with the handle, it has some striped threads which is why the nut is there. Just would need a new handle. Works good though. Happy bidding.
