I bought this reel brand new in June 1996. I have the original box. Warranty card, price tag, and the product book it came with. The reel comes with a green"cordura" storage/transportation case and it is in EXCELLENT shape. I am selling this reel because it is"too much" reel for the fishing I do. I fish with a 5 and 6 weight reel. This reel has NEVER seen salt-water however as you know this reel fits both fresh and saltwater applications. I am an Abel"fan! I have a.5 Abel reel that I use with my 6-weight Thomas& Thomas rod. Offered for sale is an Abel Super 10 Large Arber fly reel. T he reel is in perfect working condition and appears to have been very well maintained. I have included numerous photos so you know just what you're getting. No surprises here! Photo#4 shows the only notable blemish I found on this reel. The spool rim has some very minor scratches. Photos 6 and 7 are included to show that the reel foot is in perfect condition. One sweet rig. This is the real deal. This set-up has been really nice to use but I need another boat so its gotta go. Rod tube and sock included but I don't have the Abel box or pouch I will include a generic replacement pouch. In my opinion there is no better med to small stream technical fly fishing combo. But I had the reel serviced about two years ago at the Abel factory and haven't used it since that time. As seen in the last photo. There is a one small area of wear to the finish on the face of the spool. The rest of the reel, including the rim. Is unmarked. You're looking at a slightly used large arbor.This reel was for my personal use and I had this reel set up with a dry fly line so I used this reel only a few times over the years as I'm pretty much a nymph fisherman. I did not pay retail nor do I wish to get retail price so I'm offering someone a chance to own this top of the line reel at a great price. I will put 100 yards of 20lb.new backing on the reel so all you have to do is add a line and go fishing. The reel will come in the original box with reel pouch. Retail price for this top of the line reel was around $500.00 which was purchased in 2002. This reel was purchased by me while I was an Abel dealer and this reel was for my own personal use so I had my name engraved in very small writing as you can barely see. You could probably put a touch of touch paint over the engrave ... morebut I thought I'd let this up to the buyer. I'm letting this go but I assure you this reel is in perfect working condition so I'm sure you can overlook the worn spot around the inside of the spool. Especially if you're purchasing this reel for use. After I originally saw this mark I called ABEL and returned the reel thinking they would make this look like the original spool, however they returned this back to me with the repair order stating the Pawl screw was a touch too long. I wasn't very happy so I followed up with another call but was told they did not have another spool in that color so I left it go as it doesn't affect the performance. As you can see they put some new lube on the drag mechanism and everything is smooth. The reel is set up for left hand retrive which can easily be converted and it has the matte black finish. This is a very nice example of the later production Abel Big Game pt.5 fly reel in Dark Olive. This reel has the square drag teeth to make conversion from left to right hand retrieve a simple process. It also has the click for both incoming and outgoing line. The little spring can be removed to have a silent outgoing line. I recently put in a new clicker spring as I never fished this reel with the clicker installed and somehow I lost the little part. Used the rod/reel for one season. Only had the chance to give it a couple of days to fish the late king run here in WI. Figured I wasn't going to fly fish anymore due to school/work, and that I'm more of a float fisherman. The rod is super light! And is still in great condition, casts awesome, and handles fish like a beaut. The abel reel has some cosmetic wear from setting it on rocks from previous catches, but it still operates like it's brand new. I will not sell them separately, only as a setup all together.

Abel Big Game#3 Anti-Reverse Fly Reel. With extra Spool. Both are minty with no dings, scratches, rub rash or other visable flaws. On one spool is a Cortland 444SL WF10F Salt Water line, and on the other spool an Orvis WF12I Salt Water line. The reel does have my name engraved upon it(can be blacked out with a sharpie) In excellent working condition. Anti-Reverse reels are great if you need to use your fingers.
