I weighed the three pieces that make a complete ... morerod(handle piece. Middle piece, end piece) on my postal scale, it weighs 5.2 ounces. Each piece is 35 inches long. Near the handle there are two rubber stamps on the rod, one says"Granger Victory" the other says"Wright& McGill" The metal reel holder part of the handle says"Made by Wright& McGill Rod Co Denver Colo USA" it also has two patent dates- Pat Apr 12 1938" and"Pat No 2114107. The aluminum tube says"CHAMIPON" MFD by CAL-AIR Products Los Angles" Inside the screw on cover there is stamped" CAL-AIR Products Co Los Angles" This rod is from the estate of a relative who died a long time ago. It has sat unused for decades. I don't know anything about fly fishing. I have tried to describe the rod carefully, I see no damage, no wear, no stains, etc. There is some oxidation on the silver metal, not rust, and there is some darkening of the cork handle from holding it, othewise to me it looks absolutely like new. Please see the photos. Vintage Sage Fly Rod
This is a Vintage Sage GFL 896 RP Graphite 11 Fly Rod in excellent condition. It includes the original rod sack and tube. I bought this rod new from Mickey Powell at Buz’s Fly Shop in Visalia. Ca. many years ago. It is one of seven superb fly rods that I own. It is 9’6” in length and weighs 4 7/8 ozs. It was made to throw a#8 fly line however, I really like the way it handles a#9 wf taper. This was my gamer for chasing steelhead on the North Fork Umpqua River and it is still in absolutely first class condition.I will include a Cortland 444sl wf9 floating rocket taper and an SA ultra 3 wf9 floating/sinking steelhead 1V taper.

vintage H-I "spinner" Split-Bamboo Fly Rod, 3 pieces, tube, Horrocks
Exact item shown. This is a bamboo fly rod that assembles in 3 pieces. I weighed the three pieces on my postal scale. It weighs 5.4 ounces. Each piece is 35 inches long. Near the handle there is a decal with H-I and a fish, and another decal that says"Spinner" The cardboard tube is black. Steel ends, good condition. The rod is in a greenish fabric bag with separate compartments for each rod component. I don't know anything about fly fishing. I have tried to describe the rod carefully, I see no damage, no wear, no stains, etc. There is some darkening of the cork handle from holding it, and a little wear on one edge of the decal, othewise to me it looks absolutely like new. This is a very nice rare wood fly rod lure single hook type the line you see at the top is where bait was cut so that hook could be inserted and over the years the filler material has shunk there is some paint loss around head area but belly weight does still have paint i think this predates other jughead type lures because of belly weight and single hook style. Vintage Fly Fishing Rod/Fenwick FF85 8-1/2' 3 3/4 OZ w/tube Super condition
Offering a super Fenwick Feralite. Model FF85, 8-1/2 ft, 2 pc, 3-3/4 oz. fiberglass fly rod with the original aluminum carrying case. The cloth case is gone. The rod is in exceptional shape. The eyes have no damage and the wrapping is in great shape. The cork handle has never had a hook in it and is damage free. The feral attaches well and holds nicely. The action is live. The line rating tag is still on the rod but I couldn't upload enough pictures to show everything. My guess is made in very late 50's or early 60's. Defininely before mid 1963 as that was the year the 5 digit zip code came out and Fenwick's address doesn't have that.only Long Beach 4, California. Considering that, this rod is at least 50 years old but looks like it was manufactured last week except the line rating tag is slightly loose and needs regluing ... moreon the top edge. That's not bad for a 50 year old rod. There is a dent or two in the aluminum case as can be seen in picture 11. The serviceability is in no way impaired. Feralite had not yet been patented when this rod was made as it says patent pending behind the word Feralite. Serial number is C 16723. Exceptional piece but I am downsizing and can't tramp the streams as I once did so here's a nice opportunity to own agreat rod. Low start. 3 nice fly rods. LM Dickson 3 pc. bamboo rod. I believe it's a 6-7 wt. The name Amos has been lightly carved into the cork handle. I have been lazy about it. And haven't sanded it out. I do that for you if you want. The graphite rod is a Reliance 8" 6-7 wt. The Ted Williams rod is an 8"6" 8 wt. fiberglass rod. My grandfather taught my brother and I how to fly fish on one of these rods. Still a great rod to fish with. Thanks!

Up for auction is this gently used. Vintage 1960's Martin 65 single-action fly reel on an 8 ½-foot South Bend Black Beauty fly rod. The reel is Made in USA(Mohawk. NY) in very good condition. No signs of rust or corrosion anywhere. Just needs a little cleaning. I do see a couple of very light scratches on the black side of the reel but hardly noticeable. The fly rod is also in very good condition. I don't see a mark on it. Eyes are pristine. It's a“South Bend Black Beauty. 3685, medium action, graphite composite, 6/7 line weight. It does have a small yellow fly on the end of the line which I haven't bothered to remove. The Collaborative build became the industry standard in that fly rods could be built faster in which to meet large demands while allowing Two Sets of Very Trained Eyes Judge the Work to be released to a Very Fussy Clientele. On September 11. 1967 Master Rod Builders George Reid and Bill Young completed the rod now offered. Looking very much like it did some 45 plus years ago, the Superlight has been ... morethe victim of a car window. Originally 6' 2 Piece Ultra Light for those of us that like to go'Light lining' and fish anywhere from 1 1/2 Pound Test up to 3 1/2 pound test. In Most Cases, Broken Tip Rods are pretty much worthless and don't fish properly. The Fact that this started out as a 6 Foot Superlight and has is no approximately 5' 6" Vs 6' has actually only taken the rod to the next level of Ultra Light Rods. I took it out and put it up against my Mint Superlight with 4 Pound Test, Both Rods using an Orvis 50A with Daiwa Steez 4 pound test line. The Rod offered Felt Very Much Like. When you loose the tip on a Heavy or Heavier Rod well it's pretty much shot, but when you loose the tip on a Whippy Super Ultra Light, you end up with basically a Light Weight better suited for lines between 3 1/2 and 6 Weight. The Rod Cast without any weird feelings or action and while tossing lures to some of our Big Bass on the South West side of the lake where the Big Bass tend to back up into their holes and Waite for what ever the next Qualified Meal might be, I had no problem having them take my Tied Crayfish. The wraps have minor unravelling on two of the guides as seen in the pictures. The cork is in very good condition with the exception of a small section being trimmed above the reel seat as seen in the last picture. This was probably done to accomodate a larger reel. NICE VINTAGE PHILLIPSON FLY ROD 64 R 3/8 oz Lightweight 2 piece rod-wood color- this may be fiberglass as it has small flecks in it& no long grain but very flexible From what I have read looks like one of the original models the late owner was an avid fisherman& would be over 100 if alive today- this hasn't been used for 15 yrs or more All the fittings up the rod seem to be well wrapped. Tight and in vg condition- there is some minor light chipping to varnish in a few small places- no biggy The visible cork handle appears to be vg- the top screw to the reel seat has some play& looks darker. Maybe a replacement after catching a big fish! it may have lost its threading. He taped the top with 2 bandaids- testiment to their versatility! Vintage E C Powell Split Bamboo B 9 Fly Rod MINT cond. circa 1945 w/ 3 Tips Case
AT AUCTION. NO RESERVE: This is a one-of-a-kind E. C. Powell hand-built split bamboo fly rod in almost-new condition. This would be the crown jewel in any collection. First, the basic description, according to the owner: This fly rod was built around 1945 by E. C. Powell for my great uncle, Joe McMullen, who fished with Mr. Powell. I can guarantee that it was built by Mr. Powell himself. As a kid, I fished with"Uncle Joe" and E. C. Powell's son, Clyde Powell, at the Sizemore Ranch near Meeker, Colorado. Uncle Joe left this rod to me, and it's been put away since then. The rod itself is a model B-9, 9 1/2 footer and would have been used primarily for steelhead, Patent Number 9132986. The kit is complete and includes three tips-another distinguishing feature of this particular rod-and the original cloth bag, and the original ... morealuminum case. I have been in contact with the E. C. Powell Fly Fishers Club regarding this particular rod, and my asking price is based on research and correspondence with the Club. Two of the tips are 47 1/2 inches long; the third is 57 1/2 inches long. The two 47 1/2 inch tips are of two different thicknesses. Engraved in the bottom of the reel seat is 4 1/2. Perhaps the line weight used by Mr. McMullen. A rod like this does not come up for sale very often. In any condition. This rod is pristine. There are no nicks or marks on the reel seat, the cork handle looks new, the wraps are all tight and solid, the varnish is clear and smooth, and all the parts you could ask for are there. An additional note on my feedback rating: I just noticed that my feedback approval rating is at 0 percent. Please note that this rating is the result of the fact that I did not trade on ebBay for a year. And the feedback rating only reflects the past year's transactions. Here is a old vintage steel fly fishing rod. Marked"Bristol" on the reel seat. There are 4 sections total and 3 of the sections extend out and self-store in each other. Lenght when closed is about 40 inches. The overall extended length is about 107 inchs(almost 9 feet) All 4 of the line guides are good(maybe some minor bends) The base section is 6 sided(hexagon) The cork on the handle is damaged quite a bit. The metal handle butt cap is present. Both reel seat clamps are good. I see no other damage or repairs. I took several photos so you judge the cosmetic condition from the photos. Some wear from handling and use but overall quite nice condition. I do not know how old it is but it is vintage. It is a neat looking an unusual vintage fishing collectable. Bamboo Fly Rod, Vintage Kingfisher 9ft.
This is a nice vintage bamboo fly rod by Kingfisher. It is a 9ft rod 3-piece with an additional tip section. The rod is all original, in good condition with no missing parts and is very straight. The original Kingfisher label is in good condition depicting the Kingfisher bird. This came from an estate and I really don't know any other details. I do believe it is a very good price as I am not a collector.
