This rod has only been on two occasions. It was cast into a lake once and into a stream once-never on lawn. Total of about 15 min. I am a light line trout fisherman who thought that bass fishing would happen if I bought a bigger rod. Well. I just don't pick the rod up. I fish a z-axis 3wt 9' and love it. Mostly I am in 3 wt fishing situations. I just keep fishing small streams, and there are enough of them around to keep me busy. If you are looking for one of the best fast action rods ever. Here it it is. And it's pretty, too. The reel seat is up-locking and has a traditional wooden spacer. So many rod companies now put reel seats that look like something from Buck Rogers rather than something you want to look at while you're on a trout stream. Great Sage Z-Axis 490(9 foot fly rod for 4 wt. line) 2 piece that has the very tip broken off. The rod was given to me a few years ago. I believe it was a demo rod from a shop in Montana, therefore it has no warranty. i think Sage will repair these rods without warranty for $100 or so. A guy(or gal) could epoxy on a new tip-top guide and the rod would probably cast just fine. I haven't got much use for the rod these days and could use a few bucks to help fund the next fishing trip.
