This rod has two tips, each with a different style end on it, Im guessing its a wet fly ... moreand dry fly tip but not sure. All four pieces are straight and true with no bends. One tip is about 5/16 of an inch shorter than the other but one of the metal tips is 3/16 of an inch longer than the other, being a different style, so that accounts for part of the difference in length-the tips appear to have never been broken or repaired. Butt section is 38 8/16 long, center section is 38 8/16 long, one tip is 38 7/16 and the other is 38 2/16 long. The rod appears to be complete and is marked Dirigo FE Thomas Bangor Me on the reel seat. Reel seat appears to be nickle plated and has what I think is called a rolled soldered slide bar. I did some research but correct me if Im mistaken about names/details of this item. I was told and believe that the finish on the rod is the original varnish. The butt section and center section need to have the line guides rewrapped as they have been attached in a very sloppy manner, as shown in the pics. The two tips look to be in great shape however with all the guides securely attached. The rod measures 114 1/2 inches( 9 1/2 feet) when assembled but I did not really"jam" the sections together for fear of not being able to get them apart again. I believe the cork grip is referred to as sheet wrapped. Two tips come in a round bamboo storage case with a screw on cap. Bamboo case fits into the original canvas rod sack along with the butt and center sections. Canvas case is marked with the name LAWRENCE, I assume the original owner but dont know. This is a great rod but does need some repair work. I am not an expert on fly rods and got most of the info off the internet so please ask questions if you have any. $29.99 Shipping Location: Commerce City, United States NO RESERVE AUCTION You are bidding on a fantastic PRESERVED Wright McGill Granger Special bamboo fly rod GS8642. 8 1/2ft, 4.5 oz. 3/2. 3 pieces with 2 ... moretips. This rod has been what I call preserved, with the nice aged look of the original silks under the original varnish. All varnish was carefully scraped off the bamboo, however, retained over all the original silks to give the look of an original aged rod, while getting 2 fresh dips in varnish to ensure it is water tight. One snake guide at the bottom of the mid was replaced and rewrapped with new silk, however, tastefully matched against the original silk look. There is one scratch on the reel seat and one tip is down 2.5 inches(pictured) Includes original cloth sack in perfect condition, and the original aluminum tube in very very good condition, with a decent label, you don't see many tubes in this good of shape. The rod casts a 6 weight DT modern fly line beautifully. All sections are equal length(except the one tip) straight as an arrow, reel seat functions well, ferrules are great and pop with no clicking during casting. If you want a Granger to fish this is it. All the wraps look great and are an original aged wrap. The cork looks good, though suffers from some soiling and use over time, it could be cleaned if that is the look you want, varnish looks great. Completely restored and preserved. This is one heck of a great looking rod and it is ready to fish as is. This rod. For those that don't know is positioned as an upper mid-grade rod and used bamboo that was not quite good enough for the Registered and Deluxe but better than the Special, and way better than the Victory or Champion. The 9" length in my opinion is great for the fisherman out there, rather than the collectors. Let the collectors keep paying way to much for the shorter rods that don't have the length to high stick or mend the way a fisherman needs to catch fish. The shorter rods, may cast a little better, but I would be willing to bet these longer rods catch more fish, since

Up for auction here is a Vintage Shakespeare Split Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod 1357- 9' in unreal condition! The bamboo still has all its original tags clearly marked as you can see. The finish on the bamboo is better then most of the furniture in your house.All 4 pieces included in this auction.I have not seen one in this condition. Ever!Original soft case shows signs of wear especially at the top where it ties together.Part of the tie is missing and the flap is slightly coming apart.It has certainly done it's job taking care of this bamboo pole.Good luck on this one.

HEDDON Split Bamboo Fly Rod 8' No. 20 3/2 w/ Original Bag& Tube Nice Heddon Split Bamboo Fly Rod. The tag on bag is marked"No. 20. Fer. 1¾, Lgt. 8' Weight 4 oz. This is a 3/2 rod with two tips, the Original Bag& Red Aluminum Storage Tube. There is no writing or markings on the shaft above the cork handle. The Brass reel lock nut is marked"Patent 1807078" The two lower sections are mostly straight, but not perfectly straight. The heavy tip has a slight set and the light tip has a more pronounced set. All ferrules and wraps look sound& tight and the finish on all sections is glossy& smooth. The cork handle shows some patina from use, but has no serious chips or chunks missing. The only other notable defect is the plastic reel holder section does not fit tightly in the cork handle. It moves a bit and ... moremay need to be repaired for a tighter fit. Older Bamboo Fly Rod, interesting handle
For your consideration is this early bamboo fly rod. It has an interesting handle. 2 piece rod. It was attached to the Pflueger Medalist reel which is also listed. I bought it a number of years ago at an estate sale. Nice used condition. Striped wood, nice patina. I couldn't find a maker's name, might have rubbed off. I did find tiny letters in the handle, looks like"A M" A little wear to the bamboo in a couple small places, the brass part at the end of the handle has a small bend. The bottom piece measures 51" long, and the top part measures 43" long.

Here is a Vintage Horrocks& Ibbotson Bamboo Fly Rod. This is a Roosevelt model and is a 3 piece 3 tip for total leng th of 9 feet wi th the longest tip. The rod is in sound condition but needs to be refinished. The stripper guide is missing on the butt section and all guides are missing on the mid section, some of the othe rs need to be rewr ap ped. The f errules on some sections need to be reseated. The mid section is short by 1.5" The tips are all short by 3.5" 3" and 1.25" Most sections are pretty straight but the tips have fishing experience. The re is no sock or tube. SPLIT BAMBOO BIG GAME"SPECIFICATION" ROD SET IN HEDDON'S ORIGINAL CUSTOM CARRYING CASE. When you've been selling Heddon bamboo rods for as long as I have. You can sometimes get lulled into thinking you've seen about all there is to see from this company. Then something like this comes along. Without question, one of the rarest items from James Heddon's Sons that I've come across in some time. This is a Custom SET of big game"Specification rods" Both an Official 9 oz. and an Official 12 oz. tip section that share a single detachable handle) made sometime just before WWII and would be one of the most powerful rods ever built by Heddon. These"Double-Built" ... moremodels were for tuna, tarpon, albacore, swordfish and other big game species. This SET never appeared in any Heddon catalog, only the individual listing for the No.44"Deluxe" itself(with a single tip section) It would have been a custom factory special order, supplied to someone into professional big game sportfishing and it would have been quite expensive. At least one other set exists that I know of, although I've only read of it and have never even seen a photo. Because both tip sections are equipped with 5 guides, this is considered a"Catalina" version of the No.44(there was also an"Atlantic" version with doubled guides) and, as an"Official Specification Rod" conformed to the regulations and specifications of the Catalina Tuna Club. The Catalina Tuna Club was founded in 1898. Just after the first blue-fin tuna was caught with a rod and reel, a feat considered impossible at the time. VINTAGE HEDDON BAMBOO FLY ROD, #10 - 9 1/2' WITH EXTRA TIP
Here is an opportunity to get a Vintage Heddon Bamboo Fly Rod. This is Model#10“Blue Waters” and is a 3 piece 2 tip for total length of 9 1/2’ feet. The bamboo is in good shape overall. The varnish needs to be removed and redone. The guides on the mid section and both tips are on the rod. But the stripper is missing form the base section. The four pieces are full length measuring approximately 38 1/2” each. The Heddon writing on the handle is there and the rod model. Length, ferrule size and recommended line size is visible. The reel seat is broken and needs replacement. When refinished this would make a great rod for steelhead or bass. There is no sock or tube for the rod. I will pack well for shipping. Nat Uslan Custom 7 1/2' 5/6 wt Bamboo Fly Rod w/ 2 tips EX NR *penta*
This auction is for a Nat Uslan custom built bamboo fly rod in excellent condition. This two piece. Two tip, five-strip split cane rod is 7 ft 6 inches long and rated for a 6wt line. It is an unusual Uslan that according to the previous owner was custom built for Jim Shaaf when he came to fish in Florida and visited Uslan. There is unfortunately nothing included with the rod to authenticate this clai m. However the rod is exceptionally finished and one of the nicest Uslan rods I have seen- possibly from a kit or a professionally restored original. Uslan's 7 1/2 ft fly rod model was apparently inked 120 back in the 40's- then it became the 7550 and finally the 7613 later in the 50's(as it is 7 ft 6 inches long and apparently uses a size 13 ferrule) Definitely a Florida era rod from the label used on the tube as this was part of ... morethe cover of his rod catalogs with the later Florida address. Wraps are Burgundy tipped gold w/ brown in the signature wraps and base of ferrules. Cork handle is in very good to excellent condition showing slight use- with an unusual wood front piece or grip check with matching wood spacer in the up-locking reel seat. Rod is inked Custom Uslan on one flat above the handle and 7 1/2' 120 7613#6 on the other side. A very powerful rod for the weight at 4.125 oz's on my digital scale. A very smooth casting rod- handled a DT5 beautifully and shoots line well- might like WF6 best but didn't have to try. Rod comes with sock and tube- believed to be original. I'm the first to admit I know nothing about fishing rods except when I found this one I knew it was special! This is the information I could find online with identical items: Vintage. 1936 Pre-War Montague Trout Redwing Split Bamboo Fly Rod Four sections- The butt. Mid and two tips. All sections are very straight and measure under 36-1/2" long. Making this rod a 9'er. The model number is illegible on the case(see pictures) I believe this rod would grade an easy near mint condition with no visible wear. The tube is marked"Medium Trout" Comes with original bag and steel tube. The tube does show wear and is dented. This is one fine piece of cane. Showing some of Montague's very best work with bamboo. This is really one sweet rod to collect or fish with!

Early Vintage Heddon # 15 DOWAGIAC Bamboo Cast Rod
For sale is a very early vintage(patented 1908) Heddon# 15 DOWAGIAC bamboo cast rod with a bag. Bag(with four pouches for a 4 section fly rod) is not original to the rod. Has some has some stains running horizontal, primarily in the middle section, likely from the varnish when rod was refinished. No rips or tears in the cloth, no labels or markings. Rod itself has been revarnished and guide bindings possibly replaced, there is sign of wear on the cork handle(see photo#10) The top end section of the rod has a slight curve to it(see photo#12) that could likely be straightened out by a skilled craftsman. Two guides are not on the rod(see photos#7& 8) they apparently fell off but they are in hand and will be included with the rod& bag. A unique two piece fishing rod that is very primitive. It is made of bamboo cane and is about 115" long. It does have the connectors where one piece slides into the other and there is a crude tip for the line to come through. There is some leader on the end with a hook. I imagine it would work but you must put the bait and split shot on. Good luck in fishing!

VINTAGE Rare Francis "Digger" Degere model 201 bamboo fly rod
You are bidding on a Vintage Rare Francis"Digger" Degere model 201 Bamboo fly rod 7 1/2 foot 2/2 bamboo rod. The rod is made for a 4 weight reel and line. The rod has a couple of flaws. One of the tips is 4 1/2 inches short. Two of the guides have been rewrapped, there is some corosion on one of the tips as well as the wooden reel seat that had an old reel that was left on it while it was still wet. Other than that the rod is in good shape, all sections are straight and the nickel silver reel seat is in nice condition. The inscription on the reel seat reads: F Degere Model 201. 7 1/2' 4, 9-87. The rod comes with an aluminum tube as well as a rod sock. This is a chance to get a rare vintage rod from one of the well known bamboo rod makers at a reasonable price.

VINTAGE ORIGINAL POST WWII SPLIT BAMBOO FLY/CAST FISHING ROD KIT This auction is for a vintage five piece Post WW II“White Bear” split bamboo fly and casting rod combination kit with original wooden storage box. The kit includes 18 assorted hand tied flies. Silk gut leader material, snelled hooks and a unique pair of scissors all protected by a plastic covering. The rod is in excellent condition and I do not believe it has ever been used. There is a 100% intact White Bear decal on the handle. The rod can be assembled into a three piece 8’ fly rod or a two piece 5.6’ casting rod. All sections measure 33 ½” I would estimate the fly line weight to be a four-five. The 6 1/8” cork handle and screw down lock reel seat are in excellent condition. There is a crack on the female ferrule on the handle section. I believe this may have occurred ... moreduring the years this rod has been in storage. There are two snake eye guides on the fly rod mid section and three on each tip section. The casting tip section has three guides. There is a stripper guide and hook keeper on the bottom section. The rod fits together perfectly when assembled and has the distinct“pop” sound when pulled apart. All of the sections are straight. The wooden storage box is also in great condition. C.1935 SHAKESPEARE #1307 "Tony Accetta Model" 9' 3/2 Split Bamboo Fly Rod With
Up for auction a Very Nice CIRCA 1935 SHAKESPEARE NO.1307"TONY ACCETTA MODEL" 9 FT. 3/2 SPLIT BAMBOO FLY ROD WITH ORIGINAL BAG. The No.1307 was a mid to higher-grade model offered by the Shakespeare Co. from the mid-1930's until WWII. The earliest versions, like this example, were named the"Tony Accetta Model" while the later models were the"Premier" Tony Accetta was a famous fly and bait casting champion who would be a spokesman for Shakespeare throughout the 30's and 40's. Many attribute the No.1307 to the"Bristol-Era" Edwards Rod. Co. who supplied Shakespeare with several different model fly rods during the 1930's and the components used for this rod would certainly bear that out. Handwritten on the rodshaft in white ink is"Shakespeare" along one flat, 1307- 9' on another ... moreflat and"Tony Accetta Model" on yet a third. Rodshaft also carries a perfect"Shakespeare- Honor Built- Honor Sold" oval logo decal. Built with high-quality Tonkin cane and comes equipped with extra tip section, agate stripping guide, 14) snake guides(4 on the mid and 5 on each tip) Perfection tip tops(one appears to be a replacement) gunmetal serrated ferrules, flip-ring hook keeper, metal winding check, screw-locking Edwards reel seat with black spacer, solid cork Half-Wells grip and wound in what the later 1939 catalog calls crimson silk tipped in yellow. Strictly for reference, I've added a photo of that original listing from Shakespeare's 1939 catalog. Rod is in about Fine to Very Fine- condition for these, showing only light to moderate wear. I think that a few wraps could be replacements, otherwise the rod is entirely original. Bamboo is perfect, with no splits, cracks or delamination whatsoever. VINTAGE MONTAGUE MT TOM SPLIT BAMBOO FLY FISHING ROD This auction is for vintage refinished three piece 9’ Montague MT Tom split bamboo fly rod. There is a partial Montague label and original Montague sticker on the cork handle. All of the section measure 37” I would estimate it would nicely throw a five weight fly line. The six inch cork handle and screw down lock reel seat are in very good functional condition. There are two snake eye guides on the mid section. Three on the tip and a stripper guide on the bottom section. One guide on the mid and tip sections have been re-wrapped. The female ferrule on the bottom section has a hair line crack(see picture) however it and all of the sections fit nicely when assembled and have the distinct pop sound when removed. There is a set in the tip section which will not affect casting of the rod. I ... moremeticulously stripped the old varnish. Refinished with four coats of spar varnish and completed it with high quality wood rubbing compounds. The ferrules have been buffed and polished. The cork handle is in very good condition. The silver connectors are bright and shiny. The wrappings are all tight and in very good to excellent condition.
