This fly rod was probably made in the early 1900's. Two tips are in included in very good condition with all parts. This antique fly rod will need some minor restoration to include the following: minor oil lubrication at joints for easy operation of taking this fly rod apart and putting it back together. Replacement of the base round eyelet located on stick with cork handle since this eyelet is missing. Second stage stick which attaches to the base stick needs the lower eyelet put on which is included with the rod. Thread for attaching eyelets is not included. Antique Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod With Case VERY RARE UNIQUE 1 of A Kind Early 1900
This Fly Fishing Rod is the coolest Antique Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod. Very Rare and Unique! I am no expert by no means but. I have never seen a rod have a case like this one. The rod is Bamboo and has four parts plus the case. Making 5 Pieces Total. There are two separate tips for this rod. One is regular and the other is pointed. They measure about 3ft each one. Approximately 9 ft 3 in put together. It's hexagon shaped. Beautifully Designed! I am guessing this Rod is from around 1910-1920. Because of the extra tip that comes with it that is pointed. The Case is what makes is so Unique! It's a little over 3 ft. I'm guessing made of wood. Wrapped with burgundy cloth. And the ends are caped with a metal piece. There are groves where the rod lays in. Then a cloth or strap would be tied around it to hold the whole thing together. I ... moredo not see any marking any where to indicate a maker? I have tried to research it online but. I have never been able to find any rods like this one with a case like this one. I did find two rods that were similar but, all they said about them is that they were Old. Both for $200.00 on eBay. They are still active if you want to check them out for any info. Bamboo Fly Rod "The Golden" Trout Rod 8.5' in Length 5 Oz. Weight made in Japan
This auction is for a Bamboo Fly Rod. The Golden- Trout Rod made by Compac in Japan. It is in like new condition with no evidence of ever being used. The only flaw I can find is in the cork handle where a small piece of cork is missing(see pictures) I don't know if this is a factory flaw or a design to rest your thumb in. The rod is 8.5 ft. in lenght and is a 5 oz. weight. I have no idea if this is a vintage rod, or a newer one. I don't have much experience selling fly rods, so this is new territory for me. It has three sections to the rod and a fourth section which is a replacent tip section. Also comes with a cloth bag to store the rod in, it's in good condition but needs new ties on it. Highland Mills Signature Bamboo Fly Rod. 7'6" for 5 weight, 2/2 Based on Jim Payne Model 101. Model JP101. I purchased this handsome bamboo rod new at fly shop in Cody. Wyoming several years ago for my personal collection. The Signature Rods were made/assembled in the USA. With some imported elements. This is a higher grade rod than than the introductory Highland Mills rods. This beauty features flamed cane. N/S ferrules, which fit beautifully. Serial number#8 133 26 5 Rod has been lawn cast only. Near mint condition. Original-labeled. Black capped aluminum tube and original bag. Builders specifications and care sheet instructions included. Very nice rod for those without an original Payne 101 budget.

Vintage South Bend 323 Bamboo Fly Rod / D or HDH with original sock and tube
This vintage South Bend 323 bamboo fly rod is in great condition and would be an excellent candidate for someone looking to restore it to original specs or rebuild it to a shorter length with new components. The butt. Middle, and two tip sections are of equal length and straight(the 2 tips sections are especially straight and in great shape for a rod of its age) This SB 323 is given the old line rating system of D or HDH(6 weight level or Double Taper lines) Comficient cork handle, reel seat, guides, hook keeper, and ferrules are all original hardware. One of the snake guides which is included did come off on the middle section due to the old wraps unraveling, and the thread of the ferrule wrap at the top of the butt section is also beginning to unravel. Short Bamboo Fly Rod: 6’ 1”, 2 piece, 2/3 weight for small stream fun!
This rod was rebuilt and refinished from the upper sections of an unknown vintage bamboo fly rod by R. Isaac of Maine in December 2010. I fished the rod a few times on small brook trout streams in northern Michigan and New Hampshire while I was learning to make my first bamboo fly rod. It is a fun little rod. This rod has the same high end cane and hardware as the Montague Red Wing Model. It is in excellent original condition. There is a Montague Rod Company decal and“Fish Master” inscription on the bottom section. All of the sections measure 38 ½” I would estimate the fly line at a six-seven. The seven inch cork handle and screw down lock reel seat are in great condition. There are three snake eye guides on the mid and tip sections. Vintage Heddon bamboo fly rod that is in the finest original condition you will see(a virtual time warp treasure) It shows absolutely no indications that it was ever used(and it probably wasn't) The rod is signed Heddon and is marked#20– 8 ½' 2F– HDH or E. The rod comes in four equal length sections. Including two tips and stores in a brown cloth protective case that is probably original, however it is missing a tag that appears to have torn off. Included is the 36” screw top aluminum rod storage tube that I found the rod in; it shows exterior dings and minor corrosion consistent with the decades it has spent protecting this rod; it is deserving of the fly rod protectors medal of honor for its service thus far! The rod is in excellent condition and I do not believe it has ever been used. The rod can be assembled into a three piece 8’ fly rod or a two piece 5.6’ casting rod. All sections measure 33" I would estimate the fly line weight to be a three-four. The 6 1/4” cork handle and screw down lock reel seat are in great condition. There are two snake eye guides on the fly rod mid section and three on the fly rod tip section. The casting tip section has two guides. Here is a vintage Montague RAPIDAN. NINE FOOT BAMBOO FLY ROD with Cloth Wrap and Adjustable Sliding Tube. Rod is a 3/2 in very good plus to excellent condition. All four pieces are straight. All seven eyelets and tip are in excellent condition as are the wraps. The three eyelets and tip on the extra tip are also very nice. Could have only been used very slight if at all. Very nice rod. Betts Vintage “Opaque” (not bamboo brown) Fly Fishing Rod - Detroit Michigan
Here is a“RARE” Betts Fly Fishing Rod that is not the typical brown color of all other Betts Rods that I have seen. But rather is“Opaque” Clear in color as shown. Label says Betts MFG. CO. DETROIT MICHIGAN. This is a two piece rod(equal lengths) that when assembled measures 7’ 6” long. Mechanical functions are great on the vintage rod, as it has 5 nice line guides and wraps, a nice ferrule connection, a nice cork handle and metal reel seat. Appearance is decent as it does show some marks/stains on the rod and a couple of the wraps and some staining on the cork handle-nothing too major as you can see. THIS ROD IS AS DESCRIBED AND IS READY TO FISH OR ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION!
