VINTAGE SINGER SEWING MACHINE MODEL 101, BOBBIN CASE, HOOK ASSEMBLY, 1927, SWEET
This is a bobbin case and the hook assembly from a vintage Model 101 Singer sewing machine. The Model 101 was made from 1920 until 1937. This was the first Singer to be designed specifically as an electric machine. All previous electric machines were converted treadle or hand crank machines. This machine was pretty complicated. The base was cast in one piece from aluminum. This machine cost $250 back in the 20s. Which was a ton of money. Due to the cost it did not sell well and they are very hard to find today. One in good working condition is even harder to find. It was replaced with the second electric#201 in 1939, which most Singer folks think was the best machine Singer ever made. Antique /Primitive Double Bobbin Thread Holder w/ 2 Wooden Spools by Singer
What a great authentic antique that can double as a candle holder! This charming remembrance of our industrial past was made by Singer in the early 1900's. It features a metal holder with two antique wood spools and a tall thread guide that is attached by a substantial hinge to a solid wood base. Everything is original. The center post of the spool holder is marked"Simanco USA" The manufacturers of Singer Sewing Machines. The holder was used in early sewing factories, but I have been using it as a candle display with other sewing accessories. The holder is quite substantial. Weighing almost 10 pounds with the two spools. The wood base is 20 inches long and 11 inches wide. It is 2 inches thick. With the spool holder and thread guide. Vintage Antique Delicate Wedding Silk Cluny Bobbin Lace Handkerchief Ivory
This is a beautiful Silk Hankie. It has handmade lace all around the center silk piece. The center is a very fine white tissue type of silk. The lace all around it is hand made bobbin lace that looks like Cluny lace to me. There are stains on the lace. I have not touched it to wash it or to do anything to it. It has been in one of my drawers for a very long time. The work is incredible and the thread that was used has a silky finish but I am not sure what it is made of. The hankie is about a 10 inch square. The center silk is about 5 inches across. I don't know if this is a replacement piece of silk in the center. It is a most elegant and luxurious hankie. Vintage 1960's Fender Stratocaster Pickup in fantastic condition. If you look close next to the solder joints you can see 63 marked on it. Hard to see but it's there. This has obviously spent it's life in Arizona since it's not all corroded like many I have had. Black fiber bobbin and reads 6.54 ohms on my meter. It looks like it is a rewind because the lead colors are switched. I wanted to keep this for a vintage project but just never acquired the right guitar yet. A form of bobbin lace. These are oldies, hand-made, and fantastic! Measuring 5.5" in diameter and in fabulous condition! Some are a deeper ecru than others, perhaps darkening over time, and there are a few with pale yellow blemishes, although too light for the camera to capture. There is one with a dark brown mark to the edge of one, and this can be seen in one of the photos. There is teeny-tiny detail to the edges. These make perfect tea cup linens. Six vintage 1920's handmade bobbin lace doilies/mats. Two matching large ovals and one large round are in the butterfly design. Two matching small rounds and a medium round are in another design. The large ovals measure 16"x10" and are different shades of ecru. The large round is 15" diameter. The two small rounds are 6" diameter and are the same shade of ecru. The medium round is 9" diameter and is the lightest shade of ecru. Some have stains. I have not tried to remove the stains. I believe that these originally were"tea stained" in the 1920's-1930's. There are no holes. Rips, tears.only age darkening and some stains which show in the photos. I am happy to combine shipping when possible. All linen, lace is hand made bobbin that is a mix of Brussels, Point de Gaze, Bruges and others. All done by hand, the linen center on the back side is secured completely with a rolled edge to the lace trim, no loose edges. Lace work is delicate and very fine, every thread visible and 99% intact. Linen center textile has a couple of light flaws that are relatively insignificant given the age of this hanky. Lot's of time and precision hand work went into making this piece. Created entirely by hand, meandering bobbin formed clothwork tapes scrolling back and forth reminiscent of Milanese style, lovely mesh ground and wheater accents with 3 leaves. I believe the threads are a silk/ linen blend, a bit more coarse than if all silk but with a nice weight and hand. Condition is excellent! I can find no holes, tears nor stains to report, I did just find a tiny break in the ground while measuring, but you may never even notice it. This would make a lovely wrap or wedding stole. Color is an extremely light off white ecru(almost beige but not quite) similar to the color of most silk maltese laces. This is triangular ... morein shape. Measures approx 82" in length from end to end at the points and approx 36" wide at the triangular point in the center.
