This a a superb condition Fenwick FS 110. It's a 2 piece. 9' Feralite Fenglass, spinning rod. Serial# P 314529, 1976-1977) The blank is in like new condition, it weighs 5 7/8 ozs and is free of rubs, nicks, or dings. this blank is like perfect. It is rated for 3/8- 3/4 oz lures, and 4-12 lb test. The rod has it's original Fenwick paper tag on the cork handle. It has a double down locking reel seat with original S/S, free flow snake guides, wraps, and tip. There is no corrosion on these guides. It does not have it's original butt cap. You are looking at a Fenwick Woodstream HMG Graphite Spinning Rod. I believe this rod is vintage judging by its look and also because I bought it with a lot of other vintage fishing items. It looks like a great collectors item. The cork handle. Eyes, and tip of the rod are all in excellent condition. The paint and stickers are in very good condition. Rare Fenwick Techna AV Fly Rod paired with Fenwick F56 Hard to find Fenwick rod and reel. I've had this rod combo for about 15 years and have used it only occasionally. But would like to update to a new 6-wt with a LA reel so the time has come to sacrifice my last Fenwick. This lightweight. Strong and sensitive rod was at the forefront of advanced equipment during its time. Fenwick Techna AV features an ultra-thin. Superbly balanced graphite rod blank, wrapped with Aramid Weil, the same material used in bullet-proof vests. The superior strength of AV construction enables this Fenwick to use less material in the design. That's why these rods are light, thin and sensitive. The rod also tracks straighter. Unnecessary side-to-side motion is significantly reduced, so less energy is wasted and more goes into making long, straight casts ... moreand solid hook sets. This combo also features a machined aluminum F56 FLY REEL. Machined from forged T6 aluminum. This black finish, direct drive, reversible, adjustable drag reel is very comparable to the Abel 5. It takes up to a WF6 and 100 yds of backing. It has a few nicks but was rarely used, mostly when I threw streamers on a sink tip. I have both the original Neoprene reel case, rod tube and sock. This original combo ran $599 for each piece for a total of more than $1000. Due to the fact the rod is in near new condition and the reel is in great shape and the since you will have trouble finding both of these components. I will start the bidding at $400. Once again another item I inheirited& will never use. My Father took me fishing once.I was 7 or 8& I was bored out of my mind,nothing in over an hour. My dad was napping( he had a business and worked at least 12 hour days 6 days a week& sunday he usually cleaned/stocked/painted/fixed something in the business.But this sunday he took me fishing(mom made him) about two hours into fishing, I had long abandoned my rod and was doing various other things, which would cause my father to wake every 10 minutes or so,and tell me I was never going to catch anything by making so much noise(of course his yelling was way louder than what I was doing) After about the fifth time of this my dad was suddenly awoken to me yelling and screaming, that my brand new rod was floating down the stream. Dad of course jump up, covered 20 feet in like two ... morebounds, grab me up and throw me into the water after the rod, yelling the only way my loud_ can catch a fish, is if I hit the fish with the rod when I find it.Well we never found it& left right after with me soaking wet and crying my eyes out. Till we go home and mom yelled at dad for letting me get all wet. Till this day, dad tells everyone that I had a whopper of a fish on the line and that I never learned patients. Dads in his 70's now& I never told him it was just the current that took my rod. That was the last time I went fishing. DESCRIPTION: Like new Fenwick, FS55 feralite with sock and case, seems only the case shows some wear, and maybe the area where the 2 pieces come together, very minor rubbing, like someone pushed a little extra so the pieces didn't come apart. I saw in some other similar listing about restoration,or sanding the cork handle, ect. the only thing i did was wipe the dust off and then hit it with a damp rag. I'll buy one-piece Grizzly Fenwicks sight unseen in the hopes I can strip them and rewrap them into a new modern rod. You cannot find a better fiberglass blank anywhere in the world! I bought this one only to find out it is a bit too light for what I'm looking for. I'm interested in the rods than can fish 30lb test and up. Reels were recently serviced in November 2013 with brand new never used line 80lb bullbuster. Fenwick Rods are 6"10 aftco roller guides(recently disassembled. Hard to find and rare in this size and condition. Fenwick was the first company to produce rods using graphite and through the years developed some of the best casting rods around. Jim Green and Don Green(of Sage legend) were the masterminds of fenwick and later re-teamed up at Sage. This rod is the pinnacle of the Fenwick graphite line. All high quality nickle/silver components and a very nice finish. The trade-mark full wells cork grip is solid and feels great in the hand. Judging from other rods on Ebay. I'd say this one is in mint condition. I don't know if the case or the sleeve are correct for this model but what you see is exactly what you will get.
