I cannot tell the makers of the flies but it may come from old Michigan companies. From what I can see there are wolly buggers. Streamers, dry flies, wet flies and a popper. This is a vintage Wheatley Fly Box. Swing Leaf, made of Silmalloy Metal. It is approximately 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches. It was in my fisherman's tackle box. I need to downsize and thought someone might be interested in this nice fly box. There are some small flies in the box but I have no idea of their quality. However, this Wheatley Box is in great shape. It was made in England. I suspect it is about 40+ years old. My fisherman's first love was model railroads so he did little fishing. Item Photos, Item Photos, Hello and welcome to the auction.This is for a vintage Chas Farlow of 191 Strand.London leather fly wallet which measures approximately 14.8cm. by 9.5cm. by 4.5cm.C.Farlow started busines in 1840 and this Farlow address would imply a date of between 1852 and 1885.The latter date being around the time when the company mark was changed.The wallet belonged to Captain H.S.Logan*please see below) of The Leicestershire Regiment and bears his initials of H.S.L. to the leather.Beneath his initials is another mark which looks like a joined M& B.The wallet contains an original hook scale,with the maker's name of Chas Farlow and address,for Superfine Limerick Hooks of up to 7/0 in size.To the inside the wallet has tabs to hold 60 salmon or larger flies and pockets and pads for trout flies as well as storage areas to ... morethe front and back.The wallet looks to be complete and holds about 18 good trout flies to gut not counting any flies that have been mothed.To one pocket there is some old coiled gut.These coils are shown in the photographs.One of these coils retains a paper labels which is marked'Competition' to one side and'Fine to 4X' to the other.One of the other coils has a label that reads:Fine Fine to 4X.To another pocket there are also small amounts of what looks like wool and a length of twine or similar. This would appear to be the same Captain H.S.Logan of The Leicestershire Regiment who was killed in action on 1st May 1908 of wounds received whilst commanding a detachment of Soudanese Troops near Mesellamin.Soudan.There is a monument in St.Martin's Cathedral which was erected by his brother officers in his memory. You can read more of Captain Logan by searching his name and Leicestershire Regiment including details of a presentation chair dated 1890 which was sold at auction by Guildings in September 2012. Hello and welcome to the auction and thank you for viewing.This is for a group of 13 old hooks.They all appear to be black japanned.Nine have tapered shanks and to the other four the shank appears constant.The largest hook measures a little over 5.5cm. from the tip of the shank to the bend and is for a salmon fly and equal to about a 6/0.The other 12 hooks measure from 2.4cm. for the largest and 1.1cm. for the smallest.This measurement again from the tip of the shank to the bend.I don't know where the largest hook came from but the smaller hooks as far as I aware came from some very old.Unused hooks that were sent to me at least 9 years ago. The largest hook has some red paint or similar to the bend area.The other hooks are all unused and in excellent condition. Al was a past president of the Federation of Fly Fishers. Hi, Thanks for looking! Up for sale is a vintage set of Hank Roberts Flies for fishing. There are 31 total flies and they are in the original plastic case with the Hank Roberts logo on the front. The flies look like they are in good condition. The case itself measures 4.75" x 3.75" x 1" It has some wear and the lid is no longer connected to the case as the"hinges" are broken.
