Vintage lot of fly fishing items. Includes; Japan 2 3/4" raised pillar fly reel, turns smoothly with very light clicker, some finish wear. 2 7/8" unmarked reel. I have not seen this reel before and can find no markings. Turnes smoothly with nice clicker. This reel is made of aluminum I believe and the back plate has considerably staining and pitting. A vintage Chase-Boston fly tying bobbin and an unused Scientific Anglers Wet Cel 7 wt. sinking line. This line feels like it is treated with something. Nice lot. Here we have two old Fly Fishing Reels along with an assortment of old flies. I'm not a fly fisherman so I don't know much about these. One reel is labeled as a PFLEUGER with the number 1774 stamped in it. It is loaded with old line. The other is a Kmart brand and has no line. Both reels seem to operate fine. The flies are a mixed bag of used and not used. Some of the hooks on the flies in the bottom of the main picture are quite rusty. The marabou flies appear to be fresh. This is a lot of 3 vintage fishing reels. 2 are metal automatic fly reels. There is an Oren-O-Matic. Model EG. The other auto'tmatic is a Martin Mohawk. The last reel is a plastic Shakespeare Alpha, model 2528G. They all work, but I don't know how well and there are lots of signs of age and or use. 2 vintage FLY fishing REELS South Bend Bait St. Joe & unknown
These two old fly reels look like they've had a good life. The black one is unmarked. It turns freely but could stand some oiling. Base is 2-1/2" long and reel is 2-13/16" across. 2-7/8" high and 1" wide. The South Bend reel turns freely but the little black knob is loose and the plate is sits on is bent in a bit. It too has a 2-1/2" base. Wheel is 2-7/8" across, 2-7/8" high and 1" wide. These are part of my late husband's stash so I'm not too knowledgeable. The box has seen better days and is falling apart, but all lettering is readable. The reel its self has plenty of wear and tear on it as well.
