As you can see in pictures one end is wanting to start coming apart, nothing that alittle love couldn't fix. One of the closure clasps is missing on one side of the box as well. Included are the plastic sliders covering the storage compartment for flys, hooks, etc. This is good because many old boxes have these missing! Rod is in good shape for its age. The rod does have one tip that the ferrule is coming loose from the bamboo tip portion but I am sure something that an experienced fisherman/pole collector could fix. The blue/green looking stopper on the bottom of the fishing pole base wants to fall out when you pick the pole up. These seems common for old poles and tends to happen just from age, nothing major but wanted to mention it. Everything else on the bamboo fly rod pieces seems intact and good, again refer to pictures for exact conditions. There are some nicks and scrapes here and there but nothing major, just normal wear from so many years of use. Overall this rod, box, lures and everything else seem to be in rem

These rods are from a lot of returned/floor model rods that came from Bass Pro Shops. Rod#1: Temple Fork Outfitters Lefty Kreh Professional Series II 8 wt. 9'0" 4 pc. This rod is in excellent condition and appears to have never been used. There may be a very small scratch or 2 on the blank from handling. Rod#2: Bass Pro Shops White River Classic WR 864 8'6" 4 Line 03G. This rod has been used a little bit. It would appear. There is a little wear on the handle and a couple of very small pieces of cork chipped out. The blank is in very good to excellent condition, has a couple of small scratches. Up for auction I have this pair Vintage Bamboo Fly Rods both made by South Bend One is a 3 section w extra tip Mod# 323 9' H D H or D. Its in fair-good condition but certainly has a bright future in the correct hands. The first guide is tied on crappy with black thread and i think its also missing one other guide. This rod is pretty darn straight when i put it together however the extra tip has a hell of a bend to it. The original decal is missing some graphics in the center of the emblem. Comes in a nice aluminum tube but no sock. To save myself some time I'm going to say the other rod is beat to crap and may be good for parts only or just the bamboo. TWO VINTAGE POST WWII SPLIT BAMBOO FLY/CAST FISHING RODS AND BOX This auction is for two vintage Post WWII split bamboo Japanese rods in original condition. One is a“Sure Strike” fly/casting combination and the second is a“Tiger” fly rod. What is really cool is all of the rods sections are interchangeable and fit on both rods. There is a“Sure Strike decal and a partial Tiger decal on the bottom sections. All of the sections measure 33” which would equate to an 8’ fly rod and a 5.6’ casting rod. I would estimate the fly line weight to be a four-five. There are six inch cork handles on both rods. The Tiger rod handle has a chip near the top which will not affect its use. Both of the screw down lock reel seats are in very good condition. Mid sections: one has two snake eye guides the second has one. Fly Rod Tip Sections: Both have three snake ... moreeye guides. There is a slight natural set which will not affect the casting of the rod. Casting Tip section: Three guides. Bottom sections: both have stripper guides and hook keepers. The rods fit together perfectly(again all sections are interchangeable) and have the distinct pop sound when removed. The wooden box has some splits/cracks(see picture) but is still very sound. This auction is for two antique split bamboo fly fishing rods. Both found at the same recent estate sale. The one that is 8' and unmarked was found in the Phillipson tube only and the one 9' marked PHILLIPSON PACEMAKER was found in the sock only so I decided to sell them together although I cannot be sure of the maker of the unmarked one and it probably did not belong in the Phillipson tube. Both are 3 piece rods and they both weigh 5.8 ozs. each. Both rods are in excellent condition and appear just very lightly used with virtually no missing varnish except a few tiny pinhead size spots. The 9' Phillipson is missing 1 line guide at the end of the second section and that is the only detail to note but this should be an easy fix.
