I believe this is an early version of the"Uniqua" Made around 1905, the check mechanism appears to be pre 1905 and there are no"duplication" marks stamped on the reel. Internally. The reel is stamped"D6" I believe this is the makers mark for"William Dingley" the master reel maker who worked for"Hardy Brother's" between 1891-1911. ... moreThe reel still revolves well with a good smooth action. However there is some play when the spool is rocked. The horseshoe release latch works fine and the handle is well attached and sturdy, as is the alloy foot. The reel has retained much of its' original finish. However, the are some small patches of surface corrosion to the an edge section of the back plate, as well as the usual scuffs and marks you would associate with a well used reel of this age. All adds to its' character and charm. So evocative of times and anglers past. This would be a great addition to nay fishing collection. Mega Rare HARDY MARQUIS Fly Reel Jewel/Trinket Box I am continuing to reduce my collection of reels and other artifacts- this object is truely unusual. It is a jewel box modelled on a Hardy Marquis(possibly a Salmon 1 or 2) The detail is unbelievable and it looks to contain original parts(but I'm not sure! It is, metal, 3 3/4inches in diameter and is lined with brown leather plus a black felt base. The workmanship is faultless. The line looks real, it even attaches to my rod! This would make a wonderful present for any fly-fisherman and would be a great talking point. Super item. I've never seen another one.

Hardy Bougle Lightweight III Fly Reel
Hardy Bougle Lightweight III fly reel. With box. Case and warranty card. In excellent condition. This is one of the most collectible Hardy reels ever made, with only 250 being made primarily for the Japanese market. Teardrop porting and so, so smooth(by far the smoothest Bougle I have ever owned and that's a few! it is watch like in it's precision) This is not shiny at all like the newer Bougles. The reel has been fished so is not mint- few rub marks on the reel seat. The handle knob looks slightly off centre if looked at from certain angles but it came that way(photos don't show it up) and there is a slight imperfection in the anodising about a pinhead size(see photo) once again. Came that way. The nickel silver centre screw has been opened a few times(see photo) Finally, the box has a few minor tears on the edges(see photos) ... moreand the burgundy reel case is not mint- best to cover all aspects seeing this is such a collectible reel. Rare Early Hardy St George three screw Fly Reel for your bamboo rod
Wonderful old Hardy St. George 3 screw fly reel. Hard to find these in this good of shape. Measures 3 3/8" in diameter. Nice clear agate line guard. However, there is a slight hairline crack on the bottom, but should still be able to be used without damaging fly line. Mark II Duplicated type check mechanism. Marked with makers mark- J. The only thing I have done is add a little oil. Reel functions properly, no scraping or wobble. Sounds reel good. Strong drag. Unfiled brass foot. This rod will be expertly packaged and shipped insured to your location. I am an honest seller. This is a very nice little used click pawl reel that has a lot of the finer attributes and technology of the highly acclaimed Hardy reels packed into it. The clicker makes a great prrrrrr. Not to loud and not to quite, perfectly orchestrated to match the beauty of a trout. I have landed lots of Deschutes Redside Rainbows on this reel and I would say it is a great joy to fish with as well as simple, no-nonsense, and durable. This reel was professionally re-leaded by the previous owner. It was done with pure graphite just like original prewar perfects. Like owning a brand new real from the 1930s. This will be some lucky person's chance to add to the reels natural patina over time and know that it was all their own use. 1940's Hardy St. George 3 3/8 fly reel - 3 screw - smooth as silk - leaded
You are bidding on a very nice old Hardy"St. George" 3 3/8" fly reel. It is in good condition. It is of 1940's vintage. And like a fine wine, it has aged well and now presents a lovely patina. Lead finish frame with three-screw drum. Ribbed brass foot, and gray agate line guard. The agate line guard has a hairline crack in it, but it will not effect the line, as it cannot be felt with one's finger. There are no performance issues with this reel; right hand retrieve is tight with no wobble. Excellent reel for 5 or 6 weight line. It has a"maker's number" 11 quality-control marked in the inner spool. This reel also has the desirable"H& D FOLSOM ARMS CO. badge attached to the reel. It currently has 100 yards of#20 yellow Power Pro braided line for backing, and has an Orvis 6-weight long bellied switch line on it. The line has been used about 10 times, and is in great shape. The retail price of the reel is $449.99, and I paid almost $90 for the line. This reel will work for single hand rods. But it really looks great on a switch or light spey rod. hardy ultralite disc no7 fly reel

Prewar Hardy St John 3 Screw Leaded Fly Reel W/ Box EXC Cond.
As far as Hardy reels being for sale. This is as good as it gets. The original box gives this a date of 1932-36. There is a trace of silk line residue and the sloped side of spool shows some sign of"salt dusting" so assume reel was fished at least once. Mechanically reel is excellent. I have not cleaned or wiped reel at all. I put a touch of grease on spindle and pawl just to give it a few spins. With scant evidence of oil or grease, it is apparent Hardy expected very little lubrication to be used on their reels. There are some nicks to the leading. A bit of wear on edge and back from mostly being in the box. Box is sound with no breaks. Excellent original label and graphics on lid. A faint"JS Neill" seller) written on one side of box. 3 barely legible initials written in pencil on lid above word Hardy.
