Uniquely designed line guard that can easily be repositioned(wire retaining spring) for either right or left hand retrieve and even includes a Hardy logo"plug" to fill in the unused line guard hole. Line guard is perfect- no chips or cracks. Reel can be fished with right or left hand retrieve by simply reversing the position of the line guard and the click pawls. Large drag knob on reverse that regulates pressure on the click pawls. Old Hardy Featherweight fly reel with 2-screw line guard
This is an old Hardy Featherweight fly reel with 2-screw line guard. The check is also an old MKII style. Similar to old St. George and Perfect reels- very rare for lightweight series. The reel is mechanically sound with no spool wobble or rubbing on the frame. The surface leading is scratched off, especially around the rims, from honest use- adds patina to this old reel. It is set up as LHW and this is how I have been using for years- works perfectly(I can switch it to RHW before shipping if you like) It has the Hardy sound and when a good fish takes your line, it just gives you a smile. EARLY VTG ORVIS CFO IV Screw Back Fly Reel W/ SPARE SPOOL England Hardy
This is one of the earliest Hardy made CFO IV's with the screw back spindle. It is in excellent working condition and has one of the nicest. Smoothest clicks that I have ever heard on a reel. When I acquired it, the screw for the spindle was loose, which explains some of the scrapes on the inside of the spool, but I have completely gone over the reel and lubricated it with Hot Sauce. It is now in perfect working order and I will guarantee it or your money back. The spare spool had a tiny piece of the inside lip broken off, I filed the sharp corners so that it would not grab the fly line(shown in last pic) Works perfect. Shipping is $6.50 to the lower 48.

Plate Wind Fly Reel 3.5 inch Hardy Perfect Copy (Brass)
A no named plate wind reel. Mostly Brass 3.5 inch Heavy. Almost 11 ounces empty with pretty good capacity. That is a full delta long 9/10 on it with no backing. Line not included, Works good. Clicker is light, original unfiled reel foot. It does not fit modern reel seats. The pillars need that little wire locking washer thingy to make it tight but it works even though the pillars are loose. A tiny bit of tlc would be good. I had this on a bamboo switch which it balanced perfectly.

The reel comes with a marked Scientific Anler reel case. Both the fly reel and extra spool were found inside the reel case(tight fit but that how they were found! The reels housing shows paint wear from use but otherwise the reel is smooth and ready to use. There are no chips or dings-just ordinary paint wear from use. Vintage Hardy 4 1/4" Perfect Salmon Fly Reel. Duplicated MkII Check Mechanism.
I have for sale a 4 1/4" Hardy Perfect Salmon Fly Reel with a wide spool. The reel has the Duplicated Mk II Check Mechanism. It has a smooth brass foot. Nickle silver reverse thread drum locking screw, a rim mounted tension adjuster, Ebonite handle and a rotating nickle silver line guide. The reel has at some stage been put away wet and this has caused some staining to the face of the reel as well as the two spots of corrosion to the rim which I have mentioned above. I am sure the face can be cleaned up if you wish to make it more presentable. The two bites of corrosion are shown in picture 6. Picture 7 shows another view of the area above the pillar. There remains a good depth of metal to the rim and whilst it would be folly to say those areas have not been weakened by this. They do not render the reel unusable. There is no chance of ... morethis failing under normal use. The foot has been lightly filed at one end. There is no excessive play in the reel. I would describe it as a good usable reel. CONDITION USED– I would further grade this reel as in VERY GOOD condition. This reel has been used. But never abused. The reel is tight and smooth. It seems to work perfectly. There is no reel case or reel bag with this reel. DESCRIPTION The Scientific Anglers System reels were made by Hardy Brothers in England and the reel is so marked. It matches the Hardy Marquis 10 and the spools are interchangeable. This is size 9. I would use this reel for 8 or 9 weight lines. The frame of the reel is a dark tan color. The spool is a pewter color. The reel as currently set up is for Left Hand crank. It is easily switched. However. FlyMasters will be happy to switch the reel to right-hand cranking, if you wish. The rod is an extremely rare hand made split cane 8ft 9" Parabolic Trout Fly Fishing Rod Hand Built by Robert Kirk of Hampton Court, the rod is based on the design of the CC De France RRP £3295.00 which he made for Hardy when he was a master rod builder for them, he made rods for the likes of funny man Charlie Drake and Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger! I would say it is in excellent condition for it's age and I have not attempted to clean off the vintage patina it is as original as you can get although I am sure it would look almost new with a wipe down, it is such a nice rod ... moreit will probably end up in a display cabinet again but would make anybody who uses it a very happy angler as you cant beat the feel of a true split cane rod. The reel is a vintage J.W.Young Condex that is approximately 60 years old and is in great condition as can be seen. It comes with the box which is in fairly good condition but not new as you would expect, the reel was commissioned for airbrushing after the September 9/11 attacks but the artist was not paid, I purchased it as it is a work of art and have never used it for fishing, it is fit for any display cabinet but like the rod still a usable item that will make an awesome gift for a relative or survivor and would also make an excellent investment for any fine fishing tackle collector, a much better bet than leaving your cash in the bank these days. For sale is a Hardy"The Uniqua" duplicated mark 2. 2 7/8" Fly Reel. The reel has a brass ribbed foot.Rim regulator,ebonite handle and double check mechanism and bar type latch. The reel cage is stamped with the reel makers initials W T(cant find his name) and the number 44.The spool is stamped 44.
