Agate line guide is in perfect conditon with no cracks or chips. Mechanically very sound and tight- no spool or handle wobble. ... moreWeight- 3.9 ounces, 3 1/4 inches in diameter x 1 inch wide. Most suitable for 4-7 weight lines/rods, capacity WF5F plus 200 feet of 20lb GSP backing. Uniquely designed agate line guide that can easily be repositioned(wire retaining spring) for either right or left hand retrieve and even includes a Hardy logo"plug" to fill in the unused line guide hole. Reel can be fished with right or left hand retrieve by simply exchanging the positions of the line guide and the hole plug and reversing the position of the click pawls. You are bidding on a very nice antique Hardy"St. George" 3 3/8" fly reel. It is in good condition. It is of 1940's vintage; it has aged well(if one takes care of these superbly engineered reels. They will fish well for a millennium) and now presents a lovely patina. Lead finish frame with three-screw drum. Mark II duplicated-type check mechanism, ribbed brass foot, and gray agate line guard. The agate line guard has a hairline crack in it, but it will not effect the line, as it cannot be felt with one's finger. There are no performance issues with this reel; right hand retrieve is tight with no wobble. Excellent reel for 5 or 6 weight line. The reel was made in England by Hardy Bros. for LL Bean, I believe around the mid to late 1990s. Structurally, it is almost the same as a Hardy Marquis 7 Disc reel. It has a 3 5/8 in. spool diameter, with a 3/4 in. inner width, and a total weight of 5.6 oz. The reel is rated for 6 and 7 weight fly lines. It has an offset-gear disc drag system, with a spring supported steel pawl that produces a sweet clicker sound similar to a spring and pawl reel. The pawl can be disengaged if you want a quieter reel. The reel is in original right hand retrieve configuration, but is user convertible to left hand(directions are in the manual) The reel is in excellent condition. Mechanically speaking. Hardy Perfect fly reel. 4" diameter with MK II check. The reel has a full length foot and tension regulator. Some of the original leading remains. The reel is tight and the handle spins freely. There are no cracks on this reel. However, for full disclosure, the locking screw is a replacement and there appears to have been surface pitting that was fixed at one time as shown in the last photo. It's the off-colored gray areas in the photo; the two dots are the pins that hold the agate in place and are original. Not a collector's piece, but a great reel ready to fish. Other than some light frame edge wear and a few surface scuffs on the back, this reel looks like it just came out of the sales box! Mechanically like new. Agate line guide is perfect- no chips or cracks. Weight- 4.8 ounces, 3 7/16 inches in diameter x 1 inch wide(excluding handle and drag knob) Most suitable for 5-8 weight lines/rods. Uniquely designed ... moreline guard that can easily be repositioned(wire retaining spring) for either right or left hand retrieve and even includes a Hardy logo"plug" to fill in the unused line guard hole. Reel can be fished with right or left hand retrieve by simply reversing the position of the line guard and hole plug and the click pawls. Reel is currently set up for left-hand retrieve. Large drag knob on reverse that regulates spring pressure on the click pawls. Very positive clicker sound sure to let everyone else on the lake or river know that you're into a good fish with a classic Hardy reel- what could be better? Includes a very nice cloth and cordura nylon covered, padded and zippered generic(not Hardy) reel pouch- not shown. Vintage Heddon 310 fly reel. One of the quality MADE IN JAPAN copies of the Hardy LRH Lightweight Series reels. This one has some paint loss on the rims and some blistering on the spool side of the rim. Some paint loss on the inside of the spool. Mechanically it is in excellent shape with minimal spool wobble and the drag has lightened up over time to that sweet spot that protects light tippets. Click/pawl drag is set for left hand retrieve and is easily reversible. 3& 1/8" diameter and weighs 4.6oz which includes new 20lb test backing. Hardy Demon 5000 Fly Reel with 3 lines
Up for auction is a unused Hardy Demon 5000 fly reel purchased in Montana this summer with three additional lines and two extra spools This reel can be used either right or left hand retrieve. Currently it is set up for a left hand retrieve. This reel was never mounted to the rod although it is used. It has never been fished with. 0 river rash, marks etc. The reel comes with a Rio unused indicator line. Cortland camo I line and a Cortland type 3 full sink. The I line and full sink lines were used 1 time. The entire package comes with its own Hardy reel luggage. So. This is quite a lot of value for this reel set. This is a Hardy Ultralight 4000CC Click and Pawl Large Arbor Fly Reel in silver and Black finish. The reel comes with the original neopreen case. 30lb gell spun backing, 4wt floating weight forward fly line with a 9ft 5x tapered leader. I don't know the brand of fly line but it is still in good condition with no cracks and cleaned. The leader is an Orvis tapered mono leader attached with a nail knot. Hardy Bros. spools for a Hardy Perfect, 3 3/8 inch narrow fly reel
Three extra spools for an early 1960's vintage Hardy Perfect 3 3/8 inch fly reel- Right Hand Retrieve. Spool is 2 15/16 inches in diameter(perforated face) by 3/4 of an inch wide(narrow drum model) and is made to fit 3 3/8 Perfects that have a separate spool screw. I would classify these spools as being in excellent to near mint condition. There is only one small scratch on the third spool in the pictures and it is on the inside. There are no other imperfections. Spools for vintage Hardy Perfect reels in this condition are getting almost as hard to find as the reels themselves. Pick them up now when they are still relatively inexpensive- they sure aren't going to go down in price or value! You should find the pictures clear and a good representation of the spools. This is the perfect 5/6 weight line reel in my opinion because the larger spool diameter gives faster line pickup when reeling in a trout and the fully ported side plates give the reel the extra lightness not found in the solid side plate models. This reel also has room for plenty of backing, especailly if you are fond of using double taper fly lines, as I am. This reel is in near mint condition, having been well taken care of. Hardy Sovereign 5/6/7 fly reel serial numbered 1st year 1990
I bought this Hardy Sovereign 5/6/7 fly reel new in the Spring of 1990 when it was first released. And it is one of the original 1000 serial numbered reels. It has been a great companion on many trout adventures over the past 24 years, and has been lovingly cared for, as the pictures show. It is now lined with an Orvis WF6F line and probably 100 yards of 25 lb. backing. The spool spins freely with no rubbing. The drag is as strong and smooth as it was when new, and is easily switched from left to right hand by the flip of a very clever switch inside. The original Hardy instruction sheet is included. The original black leather case is still in fine condition, with a few small scrapes in the leather that a bit of black shoe polish should hide. The last picture shows a few small scrapes on the drag knob when you blow up the picture. These scrapes ... moredidn't show on the first picture. vintage SAGE 505L fly reel made by Hardy in England in the 1980's NICE!!
Offered for sale is a vintage Sage 505L fly reel with a Simms neoprene fly reel case. The reel was made by Hardy in England in the 1980's The reel is set up for right handed retrieve and is ready to use immediately. The reel is super clean smooth and ready to use immediately. The reel is missing the rubber dust cover on the side plate like most of these fly reels. The reel has a Scientific Angler WF-6-F fly line and backing installed that looks nearly new. This is a great lightly used Hardy Cascapedia MK III 5/6/7 line wt. Reel used a few times so it shows some very minor use and I mean very minor reel looks almost brand new. The reel is in good working condition and is made in England(looks like 4-7 weight line would work well) The reel has some wear and someone wrote 5 wt on it. But it works great.
