Hardy Bros. 3 5/8” LHW perfect fly reel. This is the pre-war, blued-finish reel that essentially put Hardy on the map. It has the ribbed brass foot that has not been tampered with. This MK 11 reel(extra spring and pawl) made by Tommy Armstrong, has a very effective check, certainly enough for a reel of this size. The agate does not have a crack in it, and there are no chips or cracks in the aluminum frame or spool. The reel comes in the correct Hardy box. In LHW, these pre-war reels are very hard to find and, this one spins very smoothly on its ball bearings.

Hardy Perfect Reel- 1896 The reel is 3 1/8 inch diameter narrow drum. Right hand wind, trout reel with an 1896 check system. This reel is in very good original condition and has had very little used. This can be seen in the photos by looking at the condition of all of the working parts which have almost no wear on them. The foot is full length. Stamped with the letter"J" and has no scratches or damage on it. The frame, spool and winding plate are in brilliant condition, leaded with no damage or repairs of any kind. The reel has had a general clea n and it has been serviced. Greased and oiled This is a very good example of this model reel. It runs very smoothly. Has no free play anywhere and the spool and winding plate run true without any wobble.

This reel is a mid to later 20th Century Hardy Perfect 3-5/8" fly reel currently set for LHW. But easily convertible to RHW by reversing the pawl. This model is without a line guard which enables the user to use it in any mode they desire. The reel is in good to very good condition cosmetically with typical paint loss befitting a reel that has been used for probably 50 years. Mechanically the reel is in superior condition, the drag fully adjustable, and with no discernible spool wobble. Currently manufactured in England Hardy Perfect reels of this size exceed the $1,000 price tag and are no better than the ones made in the 20th Century. Plate Wind Fly Reel 3.5 inch Hardy Perfect Copy (Brass)
A no named plate wind reel. Mostly Brass 3.5 inch Heavy. Almost 11 ounces empty with pretty good capacity. That is a full delta long 9/10 on it with no backing. Line not included, Works good. Clicker is light, original unfiled reel foot. It does not fit modern reel seats. The pillars need that little wire locking washer thingy to make it tight but it works even though the pillars are loose. A tiny bit of tlc would be good. I had this on a bamboo switch which it balanced perfectly.

Vintage Hardy 4 1/4" Perfect Salmon Fly Reel. Duplicated MkII Check Mechanism.
I have for sale a 4 1/4" Hardy Perfect Salmon Fly Reel with a wide spool. The reel has the Duplicated Mk II Check Mechanism. It has a smooth brass foot. Nickle silver reverse thread drum locking screw, a rim mounted tension adjuster, Ebonite handle and a rotating nickle silver line guide. The reel has at some stage been put away wet and this has caused some staining to the face of the reel as well as the two spots of corrosion to the rim which I have mentioned above. I am sure the face can be cleaned up if you wish to make it more presentable. The two bites of corrosion are shown in picture 6. Picture 7 shows another view of the area above the pillar. There remains a good depth of metal to the rim and whilst it would be folly to say those areas have not been weakened by this. They do not render the reel unusable. There is no chance of ... morethis failing under normal use. The foot has been lightly filed at one end. There is no excessive play in the reel. I would describe it as a good usable reel. Rare Vintage Original HARDY "TAUPO" PERFECT Fishing Reel
A rare original vintage HARDY"TAUPO" PEEFECT in excellent working order. Winds nice and smooth with no play or spool movement. Full length ribbed unfiled brass foot, black ebonite handle, rim tension screw and brass line guide with normal wear to the enamel finish. The handle has had a slight knock sometime in the past and does sit slightly off square on the winding plate. This has caused a very fine small stress fracture on the inside of the winding plate"only" as per photo. Does not affect the operation of this rare reel whatsoever which was designed to catch the larger Brown& Rainbow trout that inhabit the rivers and lakes of New Zealand. This is a used beautiful vintage original Hardy Perfect 3 5/8 fly fishing reel with the agate stripping guide and 2 spools. All of these have been used and loved. But in solid condition. could use a cleaning. But should clean up just fine. Has one small scratch on the side with the handle. most other marks appear to be cleanable. i didn't clean. HARDY PERFECT 37/8" FLY REEL. Offered for Auction Hardy 37/8" contracted(narrow drum) Perfect Reel with agate lineguard. Stamped duplicated Mk II but has silent check patent no 196736, with its original box included in sale. Circa late 1920s early 1930s. Right hand wind. Correct notched brass bullet foot. Thick ebonight handle. No pitting, corrosion or chips on the reel. This reel was still in use up till last year and is in good working order. There is a hair line crack on the rim of the frame right beside the lineguard.
