A wonderful early Block Leather Reel Case. Really great for housing your Vintage or Modern quality salmon reel. There is a fair age to this case 70 to 90 years old? I am not sure! There is no makers name on case. But quality equal to any Hardy or Farlow's. The case can hold a 4inch to 4 1/4 reel. Case in great shape with no stiching damage and strap complete! This case has the useful addition of a carrying handle! A previous owner has inscribed it' Woody' on sides and' Brags' under tying strap. This is not at all intrusive. Used Sunbeam 8/9 single action fly reel made by Hardy Brothers of England. Reel was purchased in 1980. The fly reel is in excellent condition. Both mechanically and cosmetically. Surface finish has very little dulling, a few small scuffs etc. typical for a used reel of this vintage but nothing detrimental to the usefulness of the reel and no roughness on the spool rims. The reel is mechanically sound, tight and in perfect working condition. No spool or handle wobble. The reel body has an agate line guide and spacer plug in perfect condition. Included on the reel is approximately 100 yards of backing, and approx. 50 yards of running line that was used with a shooting head. Shooting head not included. I am not sure what kind of line comes wrapped on the spool. But I'm willing to bet it's good stuff. The housing is in great shape with no scrapes or dings. Hardy Bros of England 4 1/2 Trolling Casting Reek Circa 60s or 70s? Nor sure.its must be around that era because the back of the reel and seat are stainless. Good working condition. Its caught lots of fish, but I've always treated it well. It has beautiful rosewood oversized wind knobs(l a 120.00 upgrade to those tiny knobs they came with. It's a shame if you don't fish with this reel. Take it out on the ocean and catch a couple of big fish on it. This reel has caught me lots of fish and its simplicity and sturdiness has taught me how to fish. A single action reel puts you one on one with a big fish and its simplicity allows that big one to not get away. original silver/nickel wind knob and screw never allow you to crank tension too much and those wind knobs whirling around at 5 rev per second, you wouldn't dare put your hand ... morein there to stop it so you never break line. The karma of this reel alone is worth buying it. When your out on the ocean anticipating that big fish look it and it will tell you:Don't worry bub, i;ve been here before and I'll take you through it, just put me on the fish. Very Rare Hardy Monogram 3” Fly Reel This is a very rare Hardy Monogram fly reel. This Hardy reel has a silver colored solid(non-ported) spool held to the spindle with a brass screw. A darker grey colored frame, an enclosed agate line guard, Hardy's traditional black ebonite handle, an unribbed brass reel seat and an adjustable click and pawl overrun system. The spool is 3” in diameter. The brass reel seat is stamped with Pat. No. 272409. The inside of the frame is stamped with the initials"JS" The reel comes with a non-original corduroy pouch. Our best guess for capacity is approximately 100 yards 20 pound multifilament nylon backing with a WF5F fly line. The back of the frame bears three inscriptions: Made by Hardy Bros. England. Size 3" Ambercrombie and Fitch Co. New York HB. Australia and New Zealand, Reg’d Trade Mark ... moreThe inside of the reel is almost perfectly clean. With no rust or corrosion anywhere. The reel is in excellent mechanical condition. It has been caringly and lightly fished. It is set up for right hand wind. And cannot be converted to left hand wind. While the brass screw holding the spool to the reel clearly has been removed a few times, it still most securely holds the spool to the frame and is in good condition. T he front of the spool has some very minor discoloration on its surface. The frame has some slight wear on the edges. LL Bean GQS Disc 8/9 Spey/salt Fly Reel (Made In England By Hardy Bros, Used)
Used LL Bean GQS fly reel rated for 8 or 9 weight lines. This reel was made in England by Hardy Brothers of Alnwick and is very similar to the Marquis Disc or early model Orvis CFO Disc lines of reels. This retro style reel has a solid disc drag. Is saltwater proof and can be changed from left to right hand wind easily. It would be perfect paired with a Spey or switch rod. The reel has had some use. But is in reasonable working order. Mechanically it is good shape and the drag and clicker mechanism function well. Cosmetically it has a number of small dings and blemishes. This particular model was supplied with a black stealth paint finish, rather than anodization. The paintwork on this was was in bad shape, so it has been re-sprayed. The current paintwork is ok, but not perfect- see pictures. This is a good functioning reel to use, not one ... morefor a collector. Spool diameter is approximately 3.75 inches. Width approximately 0.875 inches. Should take an 8, 9 or even 10 weight single handed line with ample backing. With a Spey or switch rod, it would suit a 6, 7 or 8 weight line. House of Hardy the Princess fly reel w/line and case
This reel is in prime condition. No parts are missing. It can either be used right or left handed it also comes equipped 4 weight sinking line and its original case. The reel is 4/5 weight there is no functional flaws and the drag works perfectly fine, there is only slight cosmetic damage around the reel release and a few dings around the frame(only noticeable upon close examination) it is well greased and the gears turn smoothly I haven't been able to find another used one on ebay that is in as good shape as this one.

House of Hardy Ultralite plus 9 foot. 8 weight, 3- piece fly rod. I just got it back from having a new tip section installed and they reconditioned the rod as well. It comes in a hard case tube with cloth wrapping. The combo comes with a new Greys GX300 large arbor reel with Hardy dry fly float line, WF8F with backing. Up for Auction is a Vintage Hardy Bros The Perfect Fly Reel This reel is one of the earlier Hardy Bros reels that doesn't bare the"reel size mark" it is used. But in solid condition. could use a cleaning. But should clean up just fine. Has one small scratch on the side with the handle. most other marks appear to be cleanable. i didn't clean. Or take the reel apart, as i will leave that to you experts for that. The markings on the reel are as followed: Made By Hardy Bros LTD Alnwick England The Perfect Fly Reel Pat.Nos. 24245 9261 Duplicated Mark II Measures roughly a little over 3" from side to side of pillars. Has what appears to be the brass foot. Brass inner spool area, and brass knob. It does spin easily. Thomas Armstrong worked for Hardy Brothers from 1928 to 1978. This particular reel was probably made sometime before World War II because it has brass fittings. Brass was extremely hard to come by during WWII as most of it was rationed for ... moreuse in the making of shell casings. Reel is 3 and 5/8 inches in diameter by 1 inch wide(excluding handle and spool spindle cap) Most suited for 5-8 weight lines/rods, capacity: WF6F plus 250 feet of 20lb Micron backing. This reel is in excellent condition cosmetically with typical rim wear, small scuffs/scrapes here and there and some surface dulling but with a majority of the reel's original gray-leaded finish still present. Mechanically the reel is very sound and tight, original full length un-filed ribbed brass foot(PAT.No 272409) duplicated MARK II, strong check spring and pawl, original black ebonite handle(no cracks) rim tension adjustment screw, telephone centre latch(REG. 734897) Reel can be fished with right or left hand retrieve by simply inverting the single click pawl. Minimal"drag" regulation may be applied via an adjustment screw head located on the rim of the reel which causes a tension spring to exert pressure on the click pawl.
