All of the mechanical and functional aspects are in very good condition and the reel feels and sounds very smooth. There are no bent or warped parts. There are some abrasions and scratches on this item(as shown in pictures) Someone has scratched their initials(NFM" NFFM" and what looks like"VIFF" into 3 interior sections on the reel(not visible when reel is operationally assembled) and 2 exterior areas(where it is mostly visible under the right light) Please refer to the pictures(I have documented these 5 areas) The black paint on the interior of the spool is worn and there are several scratches including one of the initialed areas(refer to photo) The top of the drag adjustment knob has 2 small nicks. The other 2 interior areas where the initials occur are approximately 1 inch from the exposed bearings on both sides of the body of the reel. The interior spool side is where it appears to have the"VIFF" There is also the outline of what appears to be some sticker that has fallen off(located next to the exposed bearings in photo) The final areas are on the exterior front and back face of the reel and I did not notice them until I had the reel under the perfect light(I owned this reel for years without seeing this) Also. There is an abrasion on the frame at the bottom of the reel(next to the bottom post) If you are considering buying this reel then you are most likely a serious angler and or collector so please study ALL pictures very closely with the zoom function. But I believe it's been around for a while! The ... morereason I said VINTAGE in the listing is because the cursive/scroll writing on the reel looks different from the newer"Flyweight" reels from Hardy, but I really don't know for sure! Anyhow. The brand of this reel is HOUSE OF HARDY and it was made in England. It looks to be in excellent shape, which doesn't surprise me, as my father always kept everything in pristine condition! The reel says in cursive, Made by House of Hardy, England" and it also says, The Flyweight" There is a peach- coloured line wrapped around the reel. It comes with a blue. Vinyl-type zip case which also says House of Hardy on the top. It looks like there is a small piece of vinyl coming off from the case, near the back of the case, where the zipper begins. Please see photos! He also attached a little tag on the outside of the case and it says"2 WT" So, I'm not really sure what that means. Maybe the line is a 2 weight line? Inside the case is a little pamphlet/paperwork from House of Hardy that talks about how to care for your reel. Etc. My dad was a big fly-fisherman. He fished in rivers. Mostly in Connecticut, Maine and Montana. He'd be happy to know this was going to one of his fellow fly-fishermen! Look at all the photos for the cosmetic ... morecondition. Note that the reel and spool were marked in black. But this appears to be black nail polish, which can be fairly easily scraped off with a fingernail without marring the reel's finish. I will leave finishing that job to the new owner. The(very) old fly line(a Scientific Anglers Air Cel Wet Tip WF-6-F/S) and old backing are included, but may not be fishable. It is now set up for left-hand wind, but can be easily changed to right-hand wind. This classic reel belonged to my Dad, and I remember him buying a couple of these as spares in the 1960's, and this one, while more than 50 years old, likely wasn't used very much. I managed to lose the one he gave me at some point about 30 years ago. The reel frame is 3 1/2 inches in outside diameter and 1 inch wide. The spool is 3 1/8 inches in outside diameter and 3/4 inch wide. What is interesting about these reels is that they were assembled in the USA out of parts made in Japan(as marked on the reel foot) and they were high quality but relatively inexpensive reels. As you can see, the Heddon 320 is essentially a copy of the classic Hardy Lightweight fly reel. I am not sure if parts are interchangeable. These Heddon 320's are quite rare(certainly more rare than the Hardy reels) and extremely hard to find in this condition. An essential for your collection, even if you only collect Hardy reels, but the reel can also be used for any fresh-water fly fishing. I have too many fly reels that I don't use, so I am thinning the herd. I will be listing some other fly reels and duck calls this week, so take a look at my other auctions. I accept only Paypal. Up for auction from my personal collection is this Hardy' Uniqua' 4 inch Salmon Reel. A wonderful reel to use or a great item for the serious collector. This is truely an awesome fly reel and requires very little narrative! It is a Hardy classic made of quality materials. Reel will last you for as long as you like and will never let you down. Condition excellent. Reel comes with good quality backing. Check STRONG and LOUD(will inform anglers around that contact has been made! The reel is able to hold up to a#10/11 line. here is a lovely 4 inch salmon perfect made by jimmy smith reel maker at hardy. the reel is in fantastic usable condition with chunky black handle. Ribbed brass foot, nice strong check no play or wobble on spindle, no line burns, as good as the day it was made mechanically ready for the new season. as you can see from the pics the reel is in great condition with only a tiny bit of pitting to one part of the frame this in no way makes a difference to the reels workings or looks. it has great patina and is a well sort after salmon reel Check out my!

1940's Hardy Bros The "ST GEORGE" 3 inch Fly Reel Made in England w/ Suede Case
Here wehave a rare transitional Hardy Bros 3 inch"St George" Trout FlyReel. This is the Early 3 Screw Spool Model. Which is believed to have beenbuilt in the 1940's by Jack Johnstone, who based upon my information beganworking for Hardy Bros in 1938. Reasoning that the two screw latch was introducedin 1948, the reel was constructed sometime during this period. Also note thechange to the linear"St George" positioning on the rear platecombined with the solid nickel line guide, which I have been recently advised occurredtowards the end of WWII. Maybe a 1947 as I was advised from anotherknowledgeable collector. The Reel is in Very Good Used Condition with a largemajority of its original finish, with no dings or deep scratches, The Reel isAlloy with a Ribbed Brass Foot, 3 Screw Drum Latch, Nickel Silver Tension Screwand ... moreguide line, and an Ebonite Handle. As you can see from pics it has been stored badly but, the check is as good as the day it was made as i have tried it with the pawls in from another reel, there is a tiny chip out of the foot but this does not affect the reels workings at all, it has the 2 screw line guide, if you wanted to use this reel it would be perfect and would last forever all that lets it down is the tatty finish easily sorted with a rub down and respray. all it needs is the pawls to make it a nice working vintage reel Check out my!

The reel is remarkably light weighing a meer 2.8 ounces- roughly 30% less than comparable size Hardy reels cast from more traditional ... morealuminum alloy. Most suitable for 2 to 5 weight lines/rods. Reel can be fished with right or left hand retrieve by simply inverting the single click pawl. Minimal spool overrun and"drag" regulation may be applied via a plastic knob on the reverse which causes a circular hard neoprene encased steel spring to exert varying pressure on a single click pawl. Wonderful clicker sound. Reel is in excellent mechanical condition but can only be rated fair to good cosmetically due to surface rash here and there caused by the reel having been stored while it was still wet. Cosmetic scratches and bumps as shown that are the battle scars of many a trout fight on rivers and lakes. The tune this reel sings is still as crisp as the day it was first used and there is absolutely no reason why this reel will not go on for a lifetime catching fish. One of the bricks of the House of Hardy range it has been a bread and butter reel for larger lakes and fish. It is now sadly time for me to part company and make way for an ever increasing shelf of reels. It is. Despite its used condition still a first class reel. This is a spare spool for an older Hardy LRH Lightweight fly reel. Comes with its original box. In excellent shape, and packing tissue which is tattered. This spool has been fitted to my older 2-screw line guard era LRH and it fits perfectly. As a result, there is a bit of grease on the teeth. A small amount of the finish is off of the center"bump" of the latch plate. Otherwise, spool appears new. Insured shipping to any location within the US is $6. Additional charges apply elsewhere. This is a vintage Orvis CFO III fly reel made in England by Hardy. It is in good condition. Minor blemishes on exterior faces, but totally ready to catch fish. It has a WFF#4 Rio flyline and I used it on a Scott 8'6" 4 pc- a treat to fish this light a rig. When Orvis was offering these reels. They were described as"The World's Finest Freshwater Fly Reel" and superb reels they were. This CFO III example weighs only 3 1/4 ounces and is 3" in diameter. It features a classic Hardy spring& pawl check mechanism, fully adjustable and controlled by a knob on the back plate. The check can easily be set for either right or left handed line retrieve. A bidirectional line guard requires no changing for retrieve with either hand. The spool's rim is exposed to allow for additional pressure to be applied with fingers ... moreor palm. It mounts and dismounts by means of a finger lever with a 2 screw latch cover. The foot is of brushed aluminum, attached to the frame by 2 screws and shows two perforations. The reel is suitable for#4 and#5 weight lines plus backing(there is backing on the reel) although its certainly is light enough for#3 lines also. The reel comes with fleece lined, double-sided suede case.

However you will note from the extensive photos there is no evidence of the check having been moved. This would have to have been the case. No.34441) It was popular for spinning for trout or coarse fishing. It has an ebonite spool with red lettering and comes with its original leatherette box. Although I'm not an angler. Here we have for auction a Hardy Eureka 3 ½" contracted drum fishing reel in the sought after size and in a lovely condition still retaining its leaded finish. The reel is complete with petite horn handles that turn freely and can be removed. A Silex check side lever, vented spool which connects with a two screw nickel telephone latch and a un filed brass ribbed foot. The spool turns silky smooth and sounds a delightfull click on the turn with the check engaged, there is also no wobble or line grooves! The petite cage is in an excellant condition and poker straight, however one pillar does appear to have a hairline fracture. This classic look has been taken from Vom Hofe and refined by the Hardy Cascapedia and now shows up in the Orvis reel. Perfect for your bamboo rod. The reel comes with 200 yds of 20 lb backing and 30 yds of WF9F. I am assuming the line is original. But looks fine to use as is. I have some research that this was built by Hart for Orvis, and that there were only 500 made, however, I can not confirm the 500 number. I am assuming that is where the number U302 came from Umpqua number 302 of 500. I have attached the Fireside Angler catalogue picture that describes and depicts this reel. It was sold in the 70's for $190 and the block leather case alone is worth at least $100 now. Only thing I can see wrong is some marking on the inside of the leather case and a small nick near the U on the reel seat(See pictures) The nick may have occurred at the factory, I don't know. I was asked about the dimensions of the reel today. The diameter of the reel is 3 3/8" and the width of the spool between the end plates(without taking it apart) is 1 1/4" I am so mad at my self. After taking measurements and putting the reel back in the case. The reel foot hit one of the cork washers and snapped it in two. I thought I should tell everyone. The drag on the reel is awesome from free spin to"I can barely pull it out. I would consider taking this reel to fight large trout. Salmon, strippers, bonefish, whatever. This auction is for a rare Hardy The Perfect right hand fly reel 3 5/8 Made By Hardy Bros. Ltd. England with extra spool and and original padded case. I am guessing it is from the 1960s? The drag functions perfectly.I interchanged the spools as well. A very nice high end British fly reel.

Hardy Bros. Viscount 130 fly fishing reel in good condition, Made in England
Offering a Hardy Viscount 130 fly reel in very good used condition. Reel is part of the lightweight series of reels. Frame is 3 1/4" diameter and 1 1/8" wide, spool is 2 7/8" diameter and 3/4" wide, reel weighs 4.5 ounces. This would accept a 4 or 5 weight line and sufficient backing for small stream fishing. This reel was made in England unlike most of the new Hardy reels. This reel is in overall very good condition with only a little wear on the backplate. No edge wear on the frame. There is a single screw line guide, single pawl drag and a tension regulator on the back. The reel foot is straight with only minor wear from fitting on a fly rod. Presently set up for left hand retrieve this reel could be changed to right hand retrieve by flipping the pawl around. A very good condition fly reel that would look great on a ... morebamboo rod but would also suit fiberglass or graphite rods.
